I had a bit of confusion about this as well..

But looking back at AC IV, the UK and US editions showed a bot of difference in the statues as well ( or at least in the images) One showed the Jackdaw with a flag, the other didnt. I was asking around to see if they were 2 different variants but they ended up being the same.

Back to your question.. I would bet on them being the same statue. The images just arent the same because some people at Ubisoft can't seem to work together..

It looks the same to me. The first image is like a 3d model of the statue and the last one looks more like a picture of it. They usually make these images with 3d models before the final product is decided to promote the edition much before it is released. That's why many producers include a small text saying that the final product may differ from the image. The most shocking example we recently had was the Castlevania LoS2 Dracula's Tomb. When it was originally presented it looked awesome but the final product was an abomination.
