Default Packaged figure preservation

Long time without word sorry just been poor and uncollective.

For the question though, how do I stop glue of figure packaging from drying out?

I have some of the sonic anniversary figures that I had hoped to keep sealed, I was doing the same with skylanders but wend and opened them all, the reason for this though is that they fell open, the glue dried out on all the sonic figures and 50% of the skylanders so the backing just fell off, it made me a little fed up with these types of packages as the sonic figures were on hooks and just fell off the backing

Any help?

I too would like to know what glue is used on be cardboard packaging so I can reapply them to any boxes that may have dried out, so it looks the same as it was from the factory.

I'm not sure what you mean kitty, can you provide a photo?

It sounds like they might be attached with hot glue or something similar.

I left them at the house, will have Jess take a pic tomorrow, but you know how on skylanders figures there is the plastic casing glued to the cardboard backing?

Well the glue dried up and the weight of the figure has opened them

These are what they look like when sealed

Oh, I getcha now. I'm not sure how you can get around it without making it noticeable. It seems the companies are using much more crappy glue than they used to.

I can just imagine the Star Wars collectors if this kind of thing happened to their sealed figurines.

I know it's not strictly relevant, but my Mass Effect 3 Alliance edition front cover did that, it was originally held with hot glue so I just used some more to stick it back on and no one would ever be the wiser......I haven't opened it in a while though, maybe it's happened again. Carded figures though??? It would be noticeable.

I think unless you're gonna keep stuff in a perfectly controlled environment (humidity/heat etc) there's not much you can do to stop it.

i cannot comment on how to preserve but i can say that using Pritt glue, or something similar, will dry clear and allow the plastic bubble to be fixed back onto the card
