Default Where to find old big box PC games?

Hello

I'm currently on the hunt for older PC games. Games from 1987 ~ 2005

Obviously eBay is the main place to look, but where else might I try online? There doesn't seem to be anything else really, unless I happen to come by some old stock.

Thanks

Yeah I think you will struggle online, have you tried any local retro/pawn/charity shops or car boot sales? I've come across some real bargains at those places, although it's extremely hit or miss, mainly miss unfortunately.

The best thing to do in my opinion is to start a 'want to buy' thread and see what treasures some of the members here might have hidden away.

Locally, or really anywhere in Australia, there's not much of that. I'm going to the US in a few weeks and I hope to find a lot of stuff there, but here it's mostly rubbish. You can find the odd game in the paper or on local online sites, but then they're usually in shitty condition.

Yeah I feel you, it's hard to get good condition stuff even from a couple if years ago let alone 10 or 20 years ago.

I really think advertising what you want is the way to go though, are you after anything specific?

Tom Clancy games, id games, point and click adventures, old RPGs, anything really. I actually started collecting older games, then I bought a tonne of new ones, and I want to go back to getting the classics I grew up with. And to make it harder for myself I usually only go for the sealed ones.

This is probably my favourite one so far

If there were a store that sold big boxes like that in that sort of condition I'd probably take out a loan, but they are few and far between.

I get you, if there was a store that sold everything I wanted I'd probably be broke lol.

Its part of collecting, the search is half the fun. Or frustration depending how you look at it.

I'm not into collecting older PC games, the oldest I have is probably the big box blade runner or MGS and they are far from perfect. So I'd think sealed are very hard to come by , the ones that are still sealed will likely be in the hands of collectors, who obviously know their value and would like to keep them.

Oh snap! I just found out about a place right near where I work that has retro games and sells them way cheaper than on eBay! A fellow collector who I just met yesterday told me he picked up some absolutely mint sealed Zelda GBA/GBC games for under $60 yesterday! I'm going there today but really probably shouldn't!

Hi, what edition of BG2 CE are you holding?

I have both the US and Asian CE editions and there is no way you can hold either of them in one hand as you are doing.

Why's that? I mean, it does have some weight to it, but there's no need for 2 hands

It's from the US

Another shot:
