No more club nintendo after sept 2015

I'm really sad to hear of this, club Nintendo as we know it, will be completely phased out by SEPTEMBER 2015...in replacement will be some sort of "rewards"..which I believe will be downloading digital content or extra DLC character or mp3 music downloads etc. or similar to what other companies do..buy 10 games and get a free movie ticket (cross promos) or buy a console and get $3.00 off your next Mobile 1 oil change, crap like that...I hate there taking away club Nintendo

Yeah, even though we haven't gotten much from NOA, its been a neat little bonus to get some Nintendo merchandise... very sad about it leaving too!

I've got thousands of coins worth of games I haven't registered as I usually only register enough to get platinum -- I wonder if I should hold on to those for the next "rewards program" or if its going to be completely revamped so much so that the old codes will be invalid?

Oh, saw the article about NOA too. Guess its time to register all those games - I know what I'll be doing for the next few evenings. Sad I missed that Zelda 3DS case this time around though. Will have to pick one up on eBay.

They DID say that they're going to be releasing some exclusive physical rewards though, so hopefully I'll have enough coins for whatever big/nice thing they offer!

And I have just under 1000 coins (I'll have over with the MM 3DS XL and LE). Should I just throw them at whatever now or hold on to them? I have no idea if 1000 coins is a lot or not.

EDIT: DAMNIT. I just read I can't register stuff released after 1/20 (today). I am 240 coins away from 2015 platinum (and 40 coins away from 1000). I was totally going to use the Majora's Mask stuff to get to platinum for the year.

Damnit.

Yeah, apparently we won't be getting any coins in the new3DS XL it seems. I wonder how we'll be able to register the new consoles for warranty purposes too? Also curious how they'll reward "loyalty" in the future if they're not going to include codes in games anymore?

I might have to go out and buy a new game so I can get at least 40 coins. I do still need Wind Waker HD, but I was holding out until I found a decently priced copy of the LE...

Not sure what I got, but I may have a duplicate of a game or two with unused codes. If I find one, I'll PM you with it. I know I had Xenoblade and Zelda TP LE Bundle codes duplicated - just not sure where I put them.

I do want that Wind Waker HD LE at some point. I guess now is as good a time as ever. Just don't want to drop $100+ on it.

sadly the US version shuts down even sooner than Europe..and the "club Nintendo" coins can't be used in the future If you don't register and hold on to them.

Bah! >.< I saw the news from NoA for this and never thought it would happen for us too.

Guess I'll have to dig out all my console codes that I've been squandering then and get them registered. Apparently more items will be released on CN Stars catalogue between now and September though, so do I wait and see what gets released or just grab anything I can afford!? >.<

I'm really gutted that they're doijg this. That does explain why my Ambassador N3DS didn't come with a VIP code though.
