Smile Special collector archive site project

Hello, i recently search for Some press kit,
but that is rare and expensive.
Much people cant'buy that because is very limited and expensive.
The most interesting thing in that is the bonus materials, like artworks and beta sketch.
So why someone don't make a free "press kit" archive somewere?
Not just a photos archive but a archive with SCANS and ISOS of all the stuff that are in these pakages.
That is a promotional stuff so it cant' be blocked for pirating, because that it is free merchandising stuff, not the final selled game, like released game roms/iso.

The porpuse is gave to every fan the juicy stuff in that pakages without searching and buyng rare and expensive stuff online.

If someone can do that it can be cool.

If you have Some of these press kit, you can scan and rip the disks inside of it to share it with all the fans.

The only limit is that the subject of the kit must be release or cancelled,That means Not spoilers.

Maybe it can also contains the rare oldgen bonuses from the collection editions and changed/deleted games betas.

What you think about my idea?
Someone can help me to build This proiect?

(Sorry for errors on my english writin

Yes I believe we all care about this, it's just that as much as another site would be cool for it, it would likely be quite hard to pull off as it would be difficult to get members who own loads of the more sought-after or less well-known about ones.

We do try to do that kind of thing here though, many members, including myself, collect press kits, and when we get them we sometimes post a bunch of photos

Flatout in particular does fantastic youtube videos of basically everything he gets, including a whole bunch of press kits So you should check his channel out

I'm also in the middle of getting my website back into the swing of things, as well as my Youtube channel (although I've yet to upload anything there for years now, but will be uploading again very soon!), so feel free to keep an eye out there too...

There are several hurdles to get past.

Finding people with the materials (and willing to participate).

Making it so his archive can't be used to create forgeries, thus polluting the trade/market.

Getting "adequate" scans without damaging the source. (this is particular to bound items and the like)

The more valuable/rarer the item, the less likely it would have a "perfect" HQ scan created. While I won't even pretend to know the vastness of collectables out there, a good example would be the Zelda Wind walker Scroll.

There's a number of active members who would love to have one (it?). I'm sure they wouldn't mind having a replica PH... but it is so rare... What potential issues could arise? I'm positive that some unscrupulous person wouldn't hesitate to try to pass a replica off as the original. And how would you verify it? That's the problem with a number of items in that category. It isn't so widely known.. like.. the Mona Lisa, that it would be blatantly obvious as a fake (or stolen).

It is just rare enough, but not cataloged enough, to fall into a dangerous area for collectors. Heck.. I'd love to have a "copy," posterized just to display the artwork... but I'd 100% expect to have some watermarking or deviation as to avoid the above concern.

As I said, I don't know enough about everything out there. There are some very well versed collectors here, who don't even know every bit out there. There's just to much for a single person. I used the Zelda scroll because of its mythos. (Right up there with the FF7 crystal.)

I like the concept, and as a collector of ancient things... I've love using Moby Games as a reference source.

Just be careful with your project. There are those who would take advantage of it for personal gain and damage the collect-ability of items.

A similar example was done with the Zorkmid, from the Zork Trilogy set. Not only via molds (the earliest of forgeries and fairly easy to spot.. especially is using resin or plastic) but, later commissioned as 3D printed metal replicas. (much more difficult to identify, if the correct metal was used and imperfections buffed out/masked)

Obiously the barcode/serial number must be covered, and also skip some thigs like certificate
Of autentication, the esact size-weight of the things, or other details that are very tecnical,
And not for the "art/goodies/extras" archive
Purpouse.
And about zork, probably Who do have one of the
Originals, and the only thing you can do is being
Careful of what you buy. Bad guys every time exist,
No one can stop it, just be careful of what you want buy.
The most of the collection things are really expensive to
Do very well, mostly very more expensive that the original.
So if you check well what you want you can see if is good.

so far, i dont think any single person is up to the challenge of keeping a database updated.

and if such a site is not updated, it is rather pointless.

in comparison, collectorsedition.org has some success so far because of contributions from the community. so if you want to make it work, it probably has to be a community effort.

the problem is, most 'collector database' websites today are nothing more than braggers.

My idea was make a site like "VG resource",
With a archive sorted and working like that.
