Default Wrapping boxes in shrink wrap?

What do you guys think about wrapping collectors/special editions in shrink wrap in order to protect them from dust/shelf wear?

My fear is that it would somehow trap in moisture or sqeeze the corners, however I couldn't find this being discussed anywhere.

I asked this on the gamecollecting subreddit however I got downvoted, I think people get the feeling that I would pass these off as new. This is absolutely not the case, these boxes didn't even come in shrink wrap to begin with (cyberpunk, tlou, nintendo special editions, etc.)

I gently wrap them in bubble wrap. This way the wrap isn't too tight and it doesn't put pressure on the box. Unfortunately this is visually very unappealing.

However it is important to note that shelfwear doesn't normally happen when things are just sitting on the shelf (unless you stack a million things on top of each other). It's usually when you are moving things/reorganizing stuff that things get scratched and dented. That still can happen when you shrink wrap it or bubble wrap it.

Sadly, I have found that the only proper way to truly protect them are the acrylic cases the grading companies use. You can usually get custom ones made without having to get them graded and pay the ridiculous fees. But it's still an unnecessary expense for the most part. If your CE is truly mint, I would recommend going the extra mile but that, at least my definition of truly mint, is rather rare nowadays. With CEs being mass produced more than ever and shipping companies getting more and more reckless, every CE I have received in the past few years have small flaws like bent corners etc. I don't shop from them but from what I have heard even limited run who used to check every product to make sure they are grade quality, doesn't care anymore and send dented, scratched boxes.

YES, limited run games also used to package games well if you bought the "upgrade box option" with brown wrapping paper, now they just "toss in" the games and even with a box the PS4 discs arrive loose..in addition, LRG used to carefully inspect each C.E. and send out the minty ones, and then keep the dented and dinged ones, for there "scratch and dent sales" or the convention sales etc..now, they don't care..even when i complain to LRG Support, they send "cookie cutter" bot like answers...also as far as shrink wrap..i also wanted to use shrink wrap..and people objected that some nefarious people may pass it off as some type of "factory seal" if you would of sold it off to another buyer with the homemade shrink wrap on, and they were to turn and re-sell it again etc.
