Default Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi CE (Zavvi exclusive) - PAL PS3 & X360

Zavvi have secured an exclusive CE for Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi for the PS3 and X360 (UK), and includes a figure for £69.85!

However, I am feeling that this will be another Street Fighter IV, and the price does not really justify an additional figure. No doubt this will not sell very well and Zavvi will knock 80% off in their sales shortly afterwards...

I hastily placed an order when I spotted it, but then changed my mind (which is a rarity for me), and cancelled my order with the reason being "Price too high". I suggest the rest of you do the same to get the message to Zavvi that this is too overpriced for what it is

Anyway, here's the information you guys require:

Strangely enough i had the very same feeling myself, Gemini. My reaction was more like . . ."Jeezus, £35 extra for another poxy figurine."

As with Driver San Francisco and Arcana Hearts 3 CEs, I'll be holding out for the inevitable price drop

I've been burnt before by Zavvi with the Vanquish exclusive figure, where it was just merch which had the game slapped onto the side of the box and shrinkwrapped as one entity.

But like you say, £35 extra for just a figure? That's too steep! £50 and I would bite, but at £70 this is way overpriced, and for something I would never buy otherwise, it's a lot to pay - Especially if it does end up being sold off cheap shortly afterwards to clear stock before Xmas...

Definitely one to watch though. If they drop the price before release, then I will go for it, but if not I can either wait for a cheaper price or just go without.

Looking at it, the figurine seems to be from Banpresto. These guys know how to do their figures.

No doubt that there's going to be a price drop. The game's not AAA. Heck, it's virtually unknown to casual gamers.

EDIT:

Apparently, there's only going to be 10,000 copies across Europe and PAL regions of Asia if you consider this link.

The figure was part of the Tenkaichi figure contest, and it should cost around £25-£30 when Angolz and HLJ puts it on their site for pre-orders, so the price is just the retail of the game and figure, it should drop, even though there's only 10,000.

With my lousy track record for predicting what to buy and what to put on the backburner, I'm beginning to wonder about this one . . .

Not a good buy imo and with the big flimsy cardboard box, it's very likely to arrive crushed thanks to zavvi's famous dick packaging.

I just watched a trailer, interesting fight between that giant ape and the little spiky haired guy. Luckily I'm into this franchise

You mean Oozaru Vegeta and Kakarot right? Just want to make sure us fans no what you're talking about.

Curious to see them choosing Gohan (in his Great Saiyaman outfit to boot) for the figure since Kakarot seems to be the obvious choice. Would have loved it if the figurine was him in his SS3 form. No complaining, though. Gohan has always been my favorite character.

I remember playing the Budokai titles. They weren't stellar, but they got the job done in delivering the fun. Fighting gamers would be okay with this game, but this is mainly for the fans if it's to be similar to the past titles.
