Default How Do You Do?

Just wanted to say finally. I'm glad there is a website out there for people like me. It shows me that I'm not alone.

I've been really collecting since about '99 but always kept my games even as a kid beginning with my dad's 2600. My first system, like most, was the NES. When my younger brother was a little older he got the SNES and around that time I was in high school when playing football and chasing girls were more important. Well that got boring real quick and I got married. lol

Then one day I was bored, walking around Wal-Mart (I told you I was bored), and I saw a Sega Genesis 2 for $20 including Sonic 1. My friends were all Genesis fans while I was a Nintendo fan so I said for 20 bucks why not. I then went down the street to one of the local mom and pop game stores and bought a couple more games. Went home and the rest is history.

As of today I'm up to 1299 games but tomorrow is a new day.

But as far as CE are conserned that is a horse of a different color.

It actually started off one day when I finally got around setting up my library at home. Currently I only have my CD based games displayed due to space. I started looking at the differances in original edition and greatest hits. I didn't like to see them off as such so I started to rebuy my GH for the original version. I started off with PSOne, then PS2, and finally oXbox.

While doing so I came across some Limited Edition games such as Counter Strike for the oXbox. And CE such as Call of Duty 2 - Big Red One and MechAssult 2. About that sametime Gears of War came out and I really wanted that game day one (a rariety in my case). And they only had the CE edition. I said for $10 more what the heck. I never really liked them because they just didn't match with my collection but I made an exception.

Well long story short, to late, I was over at my local GS looking for Lost Planet for the 360. It was only 10 bucks and they only had the CE available. I really didn't want it because again it didn't match with my collection but I said I'll play the game and sell it later on ebay for the original. Like all my other plans it only evolved into now upgrading every single one of my games into CE, GH, GOTY, SE, LE, LCE, ect. I'm done with all my CD based systems except for the 360. As of today, thanx to half.com and my new Call of Duty 4: MW (which untill last week I didn't even know there was a CE available), I'm done to just 5 games left to upgrade to.

Well thanx for letting me vent ...

I should also say I'm still even more particular to my CE collecting. I will only collect a game if it's game contains special items that fit within the game case. (Even as I type/read that doesn't make sense). But let me explain, for example the CofD: World at War CE comes in a huge box. But when you break it down the CE doesn't include much more then a metal canteen and a code. The game case is nothing special. No DVD or booklet that fits. Just like GTA 4. Nothing extra that fits within the game case.

Told ya, wierd. Anyways follow the link below to some of my pics. Now these were taken last May but it gives you a quick look. Also, check out my BL above for a full list.

Nice! Welcome...

our site is small but we have a handful of hardcore collectors here. If you know of others be sure to spread the word.

I kind of fell into collecting the same way you did, and I built this site because, well, no one else had done it and I kind of figured "if I build it, they will come"

I'd never heard of that backloggery site, I'll have to check that out, god knows I've got hundreds of unplayed games.

Racketboy has a great site too, I know him from Xbox-Scene, I didn't realize he opened a forum... I'll have to check that out too.
