Prey 2 Special Edition poll

What are your general opinions about paying a little extra cash for special features in a game? My biggest regret is discovering I really like a game, but months after the special editions are no longer available. I'm extremely tempted to gamble on getting D3's edition because of that.

I'm all for paying for extra goodies inside the CE package which are related to the game, but am strongly against paying extra for exclusive DLC. Collectors want something physical to collect, and to people like us DLC is worthless. Once used by the initial purchaser, it's no longer of any use to a future collector.

I think the basic things most collectors expect in a CE these days are:

* CD Soundtrack
* Dvd with additional content (Ie, wallpapers, icons, artwork etc), as well as "making of" documentary videos
* Artwork book (hardbound)


Other popular items include:

* Fold-out map (preferably cloth or textured paper)
* Small useable trinket (Ie, keychain or lanyard)


Anything small that can be included inside a small VHS-sized package is generally more popular than larger CE's which include huge figures or statues

All DLC only Collector's edition should be the same price as the normal copy, They should be pre-order incentives only.

Only when you get physical items should there be a premium, I agree with Gemini, Soundtracks ( Real CD), Artbooks and Bonus DVD are know considered minimum. I would pay $10-$20 extra for this.

There has been an explosion recently for steelbooks but I am more of a Digi-pak person, unique packaging is a must. Assassin's Creed Revelations CE is a good example.

For anyone that's reading this but not making their mark on the poll; give it a shot if you have any interest in a special edition. It could help convince the powers-that-be there's enough interest to merit one.
