Official limited Tomb Raider screenprints and giclees now live!

Mostly I get screen prints, giclees, and lithgraphs signed and it is pencil all the way if the medium allows it. Pencil doesn't fade or bleed and lasts forever. Most artists sign prints in pencil for this reason.

But like you mentioned not everything can be signed in pencil so I just make sure that I get a pigmented marker/pen that is fade resistant and I'll use it for signatures. No sharpies.

On a side note, I wish I had the time to go up to the Philadelphia Comic Con at the end of the month but work is kicking my ass at the moment. Most of the Firefly cast is going to be there damn it! Only 3 hours away.

If I ever get anything on fancy paper signed I'll take a good quality pencil. And I'll definitely look into a fade-resistant pen or marker if I end up going to a future SDCC

Just got my Summit in. Arrived in perfect shape with a customized "Thank you" message on the side of the tube. 7/300 is the lowest of any litho I have. Looks really good!

Just got my Summit litho in, holiday delayed the delivery. #2/300!

It arrived with both lids stapled to the tube so you must pull all of them on both sides before attempting to take the litho out as the tissue paper was stapled to the tube as well.

Currently I'm about to flatten it since its still rolled and I'll take photos later if anyone wishes.

Yeah they really don't know what they're doing, this is 3 out of 4 lithos damaged now. The only good one was the Sam Spratt which if I remember rightly was sent from their offices. Wonder what my replacement Skyrim one will look like :think:

Yes they use a different courier, msi which is bpost in uk.

As someone mentioned on facebook "Seems like poor form to sell again." Im a collector and I value the already limited edition merchandise I buy from you guys. When i buy something limited in number and you guys sell out, it fuels my addiction to collecting and I can be proud of the framed lithos on my wall. If your going to Re-release everything/some/few things you've already sold out of well...to put it nicely, this feels like a slap in the face.

We're selling the giclee in the store, but as was talked about elsewhere, the original plan was to have them be exclusive to the art shows and do a litho on the store a little later. This means we have one of each, printed off the same art....

Jed (our CEO) liked the giclee better. Chris (our head artist) liked the litho better. I was kind of torn.

The litho has better saturation, I think, but the blacks are darker/better on the giclee.

The overall fidelity of the giclee strikes me as being a bit finer.

The litho is full-bleed and has a glossier finish to the paper (and is signed), but the giclee is undeniably nice. You guys were clamoring for the giclee, so I'm guessing we made the right choice, ultimately, but I'm not totally sure....

The Spratt lithos are signed, but we don't know what we're doing with them now. The Spratt giclees are not signed, but will be numbered (out of 120 for NY and SF).

We would never intentionally reprint the same piece of art or do a follow-up edition. We've released some Mass Effect lithos in small, unnumbered versions so as to be distinct from their limited counterparts, and we did a color variant of the Claptrap screenprint (which I totally stand behind as a valid release).

The reason this happened is because the lithos were printed (and signed) almost a year ago. The art show where the giclees were to be sold never happened, so we put them online and sat on the lithos. I guess someone decided it had been long enough and the format was different enough from the original so as to be a distinct thing (sort of like the way the first Fallout and Skyrim lithos got re-used for the metal prints, but obviously less expensively different...).

I'm not thrilled at how this was handled, but I understand the need to recoup the money spent on the lithos, and there has been a lot of demand for that art since it sold out so quickly. There is no way anyone will be able to see each of these and not know them apart from each other, so they are still distinctly different pieces. I don't know if that's enough of a difference to really get behind this move, but that's the whole story.

As far as the mass effect re-releases. There was big difference. Size of the prints.

And I realize im saying But here lol. I see the differences between the two But its the same image (with a different shade) being re-released in the same size, pretty much the same number being released. Major difference being Signed.

It's a hard one this one as there is a whole back story so this is in no way a decision to reprint due to a sell out and add a small difference to make it feel more honest...

Totally personal opinion but, on the whole, give me the giclee over the lithograph every time. Just my preference on quality, look, feel... Hence I'm happy still that I bought into the first release.

Of course I would prefer it was signed and, I guess, in many ways it's the biggest problem here - most of the first run art releases for TR were signed and in a way strange that those destined for the pop up stores were not signed but there is something special still about them being very limited numbers and Giclees and set aside for events that got shelved.

Final word of caution I'd view it as a very cynical move if other oop pieces started being rerun with a slight variation - purely milking the cow - but this one wasn't - it was prerun....

Guess it would have been preferable to have released these right alongside the others in an honest and upfront way and let the collectors choose at that point...

Maybe this discussion wouldn't been happening then - we'd have just agonised over which to pick at the time and prob ended up with both... :P

I am actually a fairly critical person when it comes to art and how limited art is handled but this doesn't bother me overly much so long as it doesn't become common practice

Ryan had mentioned and shown us the litho version of the art print when the original released so I take his word when he says the whole set had existed at that time

I am actually ok with this but again it really shouldn't really happen again since the creation of both the giclee version and litho version was a fluke

Well this sucks. Though it does not surprise me. I stopped buying prints from them towards the end of the Mass Effect 2 print releases when they kept releasing more and more prints with higher and higher edition sizes and when the Mass Effect 3 prints were and no longer signed I called it quits and I did not really need that many Mass Effect prints.

Then this year they sucked me back in with lower edition sizes for Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Tomb Raider, all franchises a like, but please if you are going to use the same art for different prints please release/inform of ALL the different mediums it will be released in at at the same time (I knew about the Spratt lithos but did not know it was an edition of 250 and was under the impression they were being scrapped). Also, glad that Treehouse is now doing metal prints but new art on those would have been welcomed. While releasing prints that are slightly different is technically not releasing the same print again it still hits the value and collectability of the original greatly.

There are not many options for licensed video game prints and I'll admit the quality over all of game prints kinda of sucks (the C&B prints are nice but pretty overpriced) and I would hate to stop collecting video game prints again because I can not trust the companies selling them. Seriously, they can not even get a timed edition right.

I have them both and the giclee is so much nicer. The lithograph feels to much like poster (because of paper quality, no white border and logo). The giclee feels like a proper art piece.

Received the Chase giclee today. Or should I say picked up, as the priority mail poster tube was misrouted and out for delivery, yet never left the post office. I drove there to meet a supervisor to get the print, and the super thick poster tube was crushed. Print inside creased in several places and ruined. This is no fault at all of treehouse, this was mishandled by USPS. I opened the tube in front of the PO supervisor and they noted the damage being due to their error.

This is no fault at all of treehouse, this was mishandled by USPS. I opened the tube in front of the PO supervisor and they noted the damage being due to their error.

Yeah, not one thing has gone right this week when it comes to my orders. Every single thing that came was damaged. The Amazon issue was negligence, as the statues were damaged before they were even shipped to me. This new issue with USPS and the giclee was deliberate damage to the tube itself. No negligence on Treehouse's end whatsoever.

I really feel tombraider store made a mistake with the art pieces selected. Some were nice but I mean look how many they have left. Here's hoping they release good litho/giclees. However, I am against reprints and thats just because it brings down the values of those that have already bought limited editions. Reprints are really an insult to collectors. They did a reprint of the sam spratt one and ppl here were not very happy about it.

Well, perhaps doing an "open unsigned/unnumbered " edition like some of the bioware lithos would be nice. Just so that poor sods like me that missed out would get to own some forms of it. That way, collectors would have less reasons to get mad. Those numbered ones still fetch a premium when reselling.

Reprints better not be in the realm of possibility. It a company did that with signed and numbered things it would kill the hobby.
