Btw, I just noticed that their PE does not seem the same Amazon had: it lacks the content of the CE, in both the pictures they show and the item's description.

Dark Souls 3's Prestige Edition has "completely sold out", Bandai Namco has confirmed to VideoGamer.com, with the PS4 version allegedly selling out within 2 hours of going on sale.

The Prestige Edition was made available to pre-order exclusively via Amazon last month, and contains an exclusive 40cm Lord of Cinder figurine, 25cm Red Knight figurine, official soundtrack CD, 3 iron-on patches, a cloth game map and Dark Souls Trilogy hardcover artbook.

But with that gone, fans' only other options are to pre-order the £99.99 Collector's Edition, or the "limited supply" Apocalypse Edition. The Apocalypse Edition is only available to pre-order customers at GAME, and will not be available after the game ships on April 12.

This article only applies to the UK, since it was sold via other websites in other european and middle eastern countries. Also the two hour thing i think only applied to the UK
however, I do believe that almost all are sold out, there might be some left by some stores to sell them off the shelf (this is my assumption based on how geekaygames usually sells these things)

Wow thanks! I had removed Amazon.uk from my "to keep an eye on" list since Namco/Bandai reconfirmed they they sold out hard, so I would have missed it completely.

Now we'll see if they cancel these new preorders like it happened to some guys during the craze back in December.

A note: among the various european Amazon stores, the UK one is the only one that does not ship this PE internationally (I'm not counting Amazon.it that never got it in the first place :facepalm:), so a remailer service could be necessary. At the moment I'm using AlfaSent, but I fear their reshipping cost will be huge.
Anyone knows some alternatives?

Use a mail forwarding service, as I wrote earlier. It's expensive, but it's the only way if you don't know someone in the country that can forward it personally.
I used one myself -more than once- to get items that were shipped to the US only. Price aside, you get what you want.

The Prestige Edition is also available in Asia. One of the local store in my area currently have it for pre-order and so far nobody is in the list. I guess it's not very popular over here since it's too expensive. But I might grab one once the game is released and review of the edition is out and hopefully I've enough cash by that time. Cause I know that the edition will still be on sale in that store even after the game is released.

Hi everybody. I'd like to give an update regarding Prestige Editions in Italy.
I hope it'll be helpful, even though there are many hoops to jump through in order to be able to get one.

It turns out on FB that Amazon lost exclusivity for the PE in Italy (or never had in the first place?), and GameStop has it now.
They still have copies of the game, but they are opening and closing preorders for some reason.

First, on the 15th they opened a preorder window for 10 (ten) copies, made available only to level 4 registered users. (I don't know whether GS works the same way all over the world, but here users collect points by buying and selling and their account "levels up" from level 1 to 4; higher level users have early access to preordering items that are GS exclusives, so they made this sharade to make it look like they care for it)
This first wave lasted, like, 30 secs. Unsurprisingly.

Then, a few days ago, they suddely opened a second preorder window available to everybody, without any warning. I snagged a copy, and I'm totally amazed I managed to do it in time. This time it was over in a couple of minutes.

So far every preorder window appears to have new available copies for each platform: it's not like the PS4 copies sold out and now there are only the ones for PC and XBOX.

Since many users went apeshit on GS's FB, shouting about this shitty practice and giving for granted that they sold out for good, GS stated that they still have copies, that they will continue to open and close preorders in the following days and revealed the first date - 1/26. They also said that "Two more windows will be opened in the next two weeks".
They are not disclosing the exact time for the 26th "so that won't be problems with having to cancel preorders" (this isn't me being unable to translate: it doesn't mean anything in Italian either).


Now, here are the hoops:

Gamestop.whatever forces you to access your regional website. To access any GS site that's not your own you need a proxy. For the same reason they only ship nationally - that means that you need a mail forwarding service or for someone to actually receive it and ship it back to you.
To fight scalpers (yeah, sure: they care, no bs) nobody can order more than one copy. "Checks will be made to prevent multiple orders to the same address, too". This mean that since I ordered my copy, now my address is off limits for further copies.

The alternative that does not mess with this address checks is to choose "in store pick-up". However, it's only available to accounts that are bound to a GS card, and you can get one only in stores of course.

Further details: if you choose "in store pick-up" during check-out, you're asked for a 100€ deposit. If you choose direct shipping instead, you're asked the whole amount (but your money will be actually taken at shipping -you know, the amount will be frozen in your card or, if you're using Paypal, the payment will be kept on hold).

I don't know any mail forwarding service based in Italy, of course, but they do exist.
The very first google results for "mail forward italy" are http://www.smart-forwarding.com/en/ and http://www.travel-to-tuscany.org/parcel-forwarding-service-italy.html so some services are out there.

As you read above, they're not disclosing the opening time for preorders. If you're interested I suggest you use some tools to automatically check for updates in a specific part of the page. I used the free android app "Web Alert" setting it to check every minute the div of the page that had the words "sold out". I was warned by it about 10 seconds before GS tweeted about it and had a head start. It can also be used for Amazon and the like.

I realize that ordering from a foreign GS is hell on earth, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I have not read any further rumor about more copies being produced.
However, if they will actually produce more, I would not be surprised if they didn't tell anybody and leave this "OMG they're so rare!" thing as it is.

Yeah, video game comics series (and perhaps others as well?) have been doing this ALOT lately. I can't say it really serves any purpose at all other than to line their pockets with artificial sales figures from people buying not just one but SEVERAL of the same comic to get the variant covers. I mean, the AC comics have anywhere from 4-15 variants for some issues I believe last time I checked. Just crazy for collectors (who are the only people who would really care about 15 different variants).

All Prestige copies are made for the whole Pal zone, so, if they're making any translation, the game will be Multi. No chance English is not included. That just can't happen.

Regarding the box, the manual etc, since this edition is so limited it'veeeery unlikely for them to be localized like the basic copies sold in stores. They'll probably be either in English only, or Multi.

I mean that tomorrow* they will open preorders for 10 copies; when these are sold out you could say that this preorder window closes. They're been putting 10 new copies for preorder to the public for 2 weeks now, on Tuesdays.
Two weeks ago they announced, after having sold out their batch, that they were going to do this in the following weeks. Last week thay did not specify that tomorrow would be the last time, so one could imagine that there will be at least another one next week. Rumors on Facebook have next week as the last.

Up to now, the 10 copies available have sold out in a couple of minutes each time.

* by "tomorrow" I mean the 2nd of February, possibly between 10 AM and 6 PM CET (since they're tweeting and making Facebook posts about it so they need to do in in working hours)

May I ask you how are you going to deal with the exchange? I'm in a similar situation: I got a preorder for a PC Prestige on Amazon.co.uk, but later I found a copy in my country and I don't need the Uk preorder anymore. One solution would be to sell it at cost, but how exactly? How is it possible to make the transaction safe (and as cheaper as possible) for both parties?

I suppose a simple alternative would be to decide a precise time to cancel my preorder and tell anyone interested.

I'm in a similar situation: I got a preorder for a PC Prestige on Amazon.co.uk, but later I found a copy in my country and I don't need the Uk preorder anymore. One solution would be to sell it at cost, but how exactly? How is it possible to make the transaction safe (and as cheaper as possible) for both parties?
It's not that difficult, just get your buyer to pay you directly via Paypal (so you can then pay Amazon), add their address to your Amazon account & then have the game sent directly to your buyer.

If you have any doubts, just do a normal Paypal sales transaction and cover the fees. Shouldn't matter to the person buying the item as they are getting the full payment due. As said above, using the standard transaction for goods gives you recourse if you get shat on by a shady seller. :D

On a side note, I watched the trailer for Dark Souls 3 and though some people seemed meh about it, I was pretty impressed. I think they are really going to nail this one and love how dark and twisted this looks.

I think I'm getting it. That price is awful, and it looks like what you get for the $110 (in Canada) price difference is completely offensively abysmal. A bookmark (albeit cool) and a little estus flask that you can't even drink out of, and that just looks like a crappy vase to anyone who doesn't know anything about DS?

In Australia two retailers offered it, one for $900 AUD and the other for $800. I got mine at the cheaper price, but had to pay for half up front to secure it as they only had a very small amount of stock - 20 or so.

Ah, that makes more sense! I didn't pay attention to you being from Australia and the AUD conversion making a difference there. :D

Regarding the cancellations, Amazon does that here in the US sometimes as well, but not as bad as Best Buy or Walmart in my experience. They don't ever charge a deposit mainly because of the US credit card laws and the frowned upon area around charging before shipping. Some companies that have US outlets still charge on purchase (Squaresoft store etc.) but most only on or right before shipping.

I still think a lot of times these cancellations happen that the distributors over promise companies what they have available. The seller always bears the brunt of it, but that is just because they are outward facing. Of course that doesn't make it suck any less if they cancel on you.

In full disclosure I am not a fan of anything that is a third party shop or fan style release - if it isn't directly from or at least an authorized edition from the publisher it is generally a no buy for me. I guess that does make me biased, but this just seems like a really random cash in. I could just make a bad T-shirt and throw a toddlers Halloween decoration in a bag and call it the "Dark Souls 3 First Print Bag 'o Crap Special Limited Collectors Set and it would be about the same thing. :D

IMO the flask itself could not be cheaper looking. The great sword bookmark is nice, and then the only thing left is the dust cover for the guide itself. I forgot about the journal. wow

IMO the flask itself could not be cheaper looking. The great sword bookmark is nice, and then the only thing left is the dust cover for the guide itself.
Take a look and decide whether or not it's worth the price for you.
Personally, this video convinced me to cancel my preorder.

I ordered the collectors Edition of the guide (incl. the Journal) for 27,95 Euro. to pay 60 Euro more (i think when it hit Amazon the first time it was over 100 Euro) only for a cheap looking flask and a Bookmark is such a rip-off...

That is how a collectors edition should be put together. It may not be cheap in price, (though an absolute steal compared to the standalone Gamestop statue) but it appears to be really nice quality and filled with an extremely solid selection of items.

Unfortunately it's not polystone. Cheap plastic, the statue base is made of some steel though, very heavy (half of all weight). The statue itself reeks from chinese plastic smell.

Welp, glad I didn't pre-order. Kind of knew it was going to suck as it's Prima games :rotf: Plus the difference in price from the regular CE to this for the extra pieces of plastic was a flag to me as well.

They are known for crap qc, editing, lazy, cheap (meaning paper quality especially on CE), missing out bits of info (so not complete) and errors whether grammar or spelling. FF box set 1 says hi, which to now I don't think they ever acknowledged <- basically a lazy money grabbing copy and paste job. Find this disgusting and how they are still charging premium price despite of these errors.

To this day, they also don't know how to justify their text on their guides so aesthetically to me, the walls of paragraphs look messy and unprofessional.

So yep not a fan of Prima games but I do acknowledge 'some' of their guides are good albeit minor niggles. God I just hope they do not do the final fantasy XV guide. I do wish publishers stop using them and use more of companies like piggyback.
