Don't forget though, you can only register games once per account and consoles twice. SO you can register say, 2 3DS consoles AND 2 3DSXL consoles.

Consoles give the best yield I think it's 750 points for a 3DS console and 1000 for Wii and Wii U.

Looks like the last CN item -- the "Good bye Coin" is up on CN sites now. Only 2000 stars too! Anyone have some extra stars to get me one?

As I am a member of these boards, it may not come as a surprise to you that I can be quite anal about minor things that may not be an issue to most people.

Today's culprit for my nit-picking is the Mario Kart 7 Trophies that were re-released on the Nintendo Stars Catalogue. Since the trophies have recently come back up on the stars catalogue, I went ahead and purchased a Leaf and Special Cup to complete my collection. As expected these trophies are reprints of the originals. Since the original release was numbered, as expected the new release has come with a different serial number on. What I didn't expect was the trophy to look obviously different when displayed. >.<

In this instance I am referring to the Special cup. I have taken some pictures for reference:

The sticker size on the boxes are different. The Larger sticker being the new Trophy. The small sticker for the old trophy.

Next, the base of each trophy, besides having year dates, the sticker colours are different, with the new one being gold and the old being white.

Now the most noticeable difference, the colour. >.< The colour of the new trophy is significantly darker than the old one. You can't see it all to well on the picture, but the new trophy has a Orangey-gold colour to it, unlike the old one which is a yellow-gold colour.

This might not bother some people, but for those who would like a full set, I found that with the reprint Special cup, you can see the difference in the shade of gold compared to the rest of the trophies. It actually looks quite odd, imo...

Thanks. That really stinks about the color difference. Its not really "gold" looking -- its more "bronze-y" which is sad since the old ones look so much better. I imagine it'll be that case with ALL of the new ones (which I am getting) which is kind of sad. Original ones may go up in price or maybe down now that there'll be more out there. Who knows. Either way, sad that they are different coloring. The labels and stickers being different is good for people who wanted their OG ones to stay distinct, but the gold-color changing is not good for people who liked the originals and couldn't get them other than eBay reseller prices
