I'm not amused. I don't care what kind of hole that is. It's a failure.

heeeeem what ?? I've heard their CS was bad but seriously...They're trying to justify this ?

I can testify it is not normal.

First4Figures customer service has to be the worst I've dealt with in this hobby. I had a worse defect (in my view) than you on a different statue and after going back and forth with CS I ended up with... $5 in reward points! PCS and Sideshow have given me over 10 times that amount, without any haggling, for minor grievances unrelated to the statue itself. F4F like to promote themselves as being this community-driven, consumer-friendly company but it's just a front. As in your case, they will go as far as to blatantly lie in order to stick you with a defective product (for which you paid $500+!).

I've also read that Alex is in fact the one responsible for this policy.

Well if they ever try to pull that on me I'd do a chargeback with my credit card. They don't want to replace or refund, I'll do it myself.

They weren't like that in the past, they used to be ok with replacements. Alex said he is trying to improve on CS but from what I see it's not going better. I believe lots of people cancelled statues because of that.

I'm very dissapointed about F4F. Never expect to have such Problems with the CS.

Here's the answer:

"Thank you for reaching out. Rest assured that the hole highlighted in your images is normal and not a defect. The hole is used during the casting of the statue pieces as an airhole"

I told them, that I don't care about what Kind of hole that is and that I want an plum without hole.

Here's the answer:

"We can assure you that the hole is NOT a defect and is a part of the casting process. All replacement pieces will also have this hole.

The pieces of our statues are cast hollow. The casting process involves heating and cooling the piece. The airhole moderates the air pressure inside the hollow piece during the casting process to prevent the piece from deforming. Without the airhole, air pressure will build up inside the cast piece during heating, and the opposite will happen when cooling down. As the resin is malleable when it is hot, this change in air pressure will cause the piece and expand and contract unpredictably, deforming the shape of the piece."

I don't believe them. They are obviously lying. I never had such a visible airhole. Very dubious. I still want an replacement. Without a hole

Send them the photo of Mar-l-Aoutat's plume & then get them to say it's normal.

If they still won't budge, politely state you will smear their name all over the internet.

Already did the first. Thanks to Mar-I_Aoutat

Waiting for the answer. If they still won't replace me the plum, I'll post it on facebook and will buy just used F4F.

I would agree with them on why the hole is there, as it makes total sense. However, when you cast things that are dependent only upon the visual appeal, you design these to be cast with something like that in a spot nobody can see, not in a place where everyone would notice

F4F CS used to be really good around 10-12 years ago. Albeit, they were a little slow in sorting issues when first raised, but always had my issues resolved to a satisfactory outcome with little resistance. When I say slow, I mean real slow. It took 2 and a half years to sort out an issue with my Wolf Link & Midna Statue, where the Midna piece had broken, then the replacement Midna piece had also arrived with me broken. It also took around 18 months for my Ganondorf Statue to be sorted too. There was a hairline fracture on the sword which I complained about, but it got replaced to a satisfactory outcome.

However, only last year, I had an issue with the paint finish on one of the spikes on my Majora's Mask. The paint defect "fell within their tolerances" and didn't warrant a replacement. It took some arguing with them to get this resolved, only for the replacement piece to have blisters/ bubbling in the resin. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing was resolved in less than a month in the end, but I shouldn't have to go through so much trouble to get an item replaced. I had to record a video of the item, highlighting the defect, along with the COA for my item and send it to them. Pictures were not enough it seems... I was less than impressed. Here's an image of the blistering of the second item. Don't have the originally images for the first one still, only got the video which has my COA on, so won't be posting.

I have to say, their QC is not as up to standard as it used to be. Since their edition sizes and popularity has increased, and their fanbase has increased, the quality of their product has definitely gone down, IMO.

That's another issue entirely, because of the lengthy pre-order period for F4F items, you will be lucky if you are still within the charge-back period for your card provider by the time that you receive the item. For example, I have already finished paying for my Shiranui Statue, but still have yet to receive it. I think it was completed payment in May. Charge-back period for most major credit card provider is typically 180 Days.

Looking forward to seeing what the next Zelda statue release will be. Have got $375 reward credit to use...
