I prefer slipcases over clamshells but prefer the artwork on the ea gear one more

Maybe I'll stick the clamshell art book into the titan slipcase

Also wondering if anyone can tell me more about a PS3 that has this on it

It's a fat PS3 and from what I can tell must be the original version or perhaps a precursor?

I want to say this PS3 was maybe sent to the states to go through safety testing or something?

Or is it a Dev PS3?

Really out of my element here

Its exactly what it states on the sticker,a prototype console. Most likely sent to perhaps a game developer for testing purposes of games to be released, possibly to a US testing department for compliance purposes or perhaps basically like a salesman sample. What you have is simply one of the first PS3 consoles made before official production & release of the console to the general public. Normally anything for Dev has something on there that states this but,not all the time. These were never packaged in boxes like you see in the stores, just the console in a standard packing box was sent to whereever. Nice to have & nice to look at knowing this was one of the first to be made before joe public could buy them

I see this a lot
Its not uncommon in any technology field
Managers of companies love to get there hands in early / upcoming hardware / tech releases and they get recalled and replaced with the latest 'prototype' model till eventually the prototype matches the production model and the engineers forget to recall all the prototypes
It happens a lot in sony (I know due to experience) seen a lot of prototype mobile phones, with prototype imei's
So yea its not FCA authorised or whatever but chances are is is the same as off the shelf hardware although it will be more carefully made and not mass production run made so in this case should be of a higher quality

But hey this is lily speaking
And when is lily ever right about anything
