I think it's important to remember that when it comes to custom framing, there are endless options; and with those endless options, come endlessly climbing prices! It all depends on what you want. Do you want a gilded frame, brushed metal, double mated, triple mated, suede, ultra clear glass, antique frame, and on and on.

You could spend as little as $150 on a piece,or you could just as easily drop $500 on that same piece! It's all about your budget. I tend to stick to the lower end of the price spectrum; but like I said, even then , it's still not fun.

Do it yourself is a whole other thing, and I'm sure that it's probably the cheapest route to go. I myself, however, have never had the stones to frame a piece. I always let the pros do the work.
