A you said the prototype console is likely a generic case, but I doubt it would contain PS4 guts if it's a pre-production development kit. Perhaps you can message the forum member directly through that thread. You might get a better response there.

I contacted him (them) via their FB page, as that was what was requested.

No dice on the image of it. What has my interest peaked is that it is labled as "prototype" not dev kit (they have debugging/test kits listed, which I am assuming are the ones that look just like a standard PS4 w/ the test port)

I'm mostly curious if it is a "prototype" like... say a car show, or as you are noting (and I believe it will be, like in the IGN shot of the controller) generic case dev kit.

And I said PS4 guts... well because it is a PS4, not to mean like a store model.
