Default Re: Metal Gear Solid V CE open for pre-order

Hey. Thanks for the answers! Very helpful.

I'm very excited to have snagged one of these since I love MGS and it's going to be Hideo Kojima's last MGS game (since he is leaving Konami).

I have a couple more questions.
I know I'm off topic (sorry), but since you are here!

1. After the sales are all done do we ever find out the ES? Seems kind of useful data for the future looking back.

2. Any idea what's a typical (likely) ES?

E.g. the looks like the MKX Euro Edition is 70,000 (if the concept art steel card is to be believed). That seems like LOT to me....but I come from the world of statues with much lowers ES, often less than 1000.

Like all collectables there are the ones I will just buy because I absolutely love the game (e.g. Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collection) and there are ones that I will take a chance on in advance not knowing if I will love the game.
My decision making process will be made up of many facets and one of them is scarcity or the collectable's ability to retain or gain value.

3. More specifically I'd love to know how many TLOU Pandemic Editions were made considering the mark up on eBay. I can't believe it's anywhere near 70,000...?

Cheers
Thanks again for your help!

As far as I know we won't be able to know the edition size unless the company tells us before release or from some inside source.

All the CEs have different edition size. Some companies keep making CE until the game isn't popular anymore (eg. Some halo games and NA version of Uncharted 3 CE).

Far Cry and Assassin's Creed CEs all took forever to be sold out, but more people buy AC than FC, so even if they took the same time, the edition sizes are different.

For TLoU PE, I don't think it's anywhere near 70,000.

Again, my suggestion would be pre-order once they are available. If they are sold out very quickly like MSG 5 PP CE, it's pretty rare. You can always cancel it if you decide not to buy it.

Edit: they usually tell us the edition size of its limited. We never get the edition size from Ubisoft lol

OK, again thanks for the answers.

Weird how Uncharted 3 CE was ongoing. Was there a real statue involved or was it a PVC figure?

Generally it's not that easy to just keep producing statues. Hence maybe why TLOU was limited (I know the statue was made by TriForce - they are also making a new statue apparently).

The figure in Uncharted 3 CE is PVC figure.

Yeah, usually if the CE has a poly stone statue, it will be limited.
