Really hope this doesn't tank. I think Square Enix is testing the waters with this game for the new generation and as a result given a much lower budget

Which probably explains this. Sales wise the first week in Japan was also good but not great, considering Star Ocean 4 sales was 166,027 on the 360 for Japan. Current sales for this game is 113,022 on the PS4, considering the bad reviews, can't see that much more needed increase in sales for the PS3 version which is out later. Don't know if this is just wishful thinking that this is perhaps due to the lower PS4 adoption rate currently in Japan and lower marketing costs from budget? Think Microsoft marketed the hell out of Star Ocean 4 back in the day. I can really see this being slain in the west

In regards to the CE, seems like a watered down version of the ultimate box + addition of steelbook for a much lower price. So literally minus figure and a demo of the OST. I really do hate sample soundtracks in a CE, makes the whole definition of a physical CE pointless. But will still buy to support this franchise - like final fantasy have fond memories of playing this back in the day!

Yeah can you link some of these reviews? I've only heard good things about the game aside from censorship complaints.
