But agree that statue looks like it is done really well. There is also a big difference in material and design... so this is not really a good reference in any sense that i can see.

It's indeed different in material and design, but the point I want to make is that after a price figures must have all kinds of great details, from the painting, to the sculpting and the pose. Everything must be of a level and above in order for the figure to be a good one.
For example, if the sculpting is great, but the painting is awful, the figure will still be awful (e.g figure of the EU bravely default CE).
