The second edition tropies have a larger sticker on the box and the gold colour of the trophies is slightly darker with a bit of an orangey colour to it. I will go through my pics later and see if I have some comparison pics. I remember highlighting it on here that there was a slight colour variance. Also, there was not a second edition of the Lightning cup. The year date on the base of the second edition was 2015 as well, if I recall. The sticker colour on the bases of the second edition trophies was also a different colour. Lots of ways to tell! ;P
You're in luck... First Edition     Second Edition     It's hard to catch on camera, but the second edition ones were definitely darker. 1st (2013) on Right, 2nd (2015) on Left   I can confirm that the same is for the Mushroom and Special cups. It bothered me that much that I replaced all my 2nd Edition ones with 1st Ed.
