What happens then if you want to play the game?? Openng/clsoing (and any handling in general) just leads to damage on the case. Usually people stuff them in the poly sleeve and are done with it.

I think my Thief one is the only one I have in the case, and that's because it was the first Steelbook I owned. If they come in the case now, I have a dozen or so blank G2 plastic cases I stuff them in.

I play very few games and I very rarely play a game more than once, i dont have time for that, so i basically open and close it twice.
And not that many games come inside the steelbook, so we are talking like really low numbers here.
Of the 235 +/- steelbooks i have, i would say less than 5% have games inside them and out of thous 5% that have games inside, almost all of them are sealed.
