I did an unboxing video today of the Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection Limited Edition (PlayStation 3, Zavvi.com Exclusive) and can confirm that it is indeed a steelbook. I can also confirm that Zavvi packaged it poorly and the outter cardboard box of the Limited Edition is really thin and cheap (mine had two crushed corners) - thankfully the contents inside were in pristine condition. (I was offered an exchange but had zero faith the replacement would arrive in better condition - I therefore cut my losses and accepted their offer of a 10% refund).

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection Limited Edition Unboxing (PlayStation 3, Zavvi.com Exclusive) - Alternative Magazine Online
Thanks for the video unboxing video unboxing Marty, it was very detailed and informative

As for the packaging of the game, it's a little disappointing for Konami to be cheap and package it in flimsy cardboard. I think the US LE is far more presentable and had used a sturdy hard cardboard for theirs. The contents sure are far more important than the packaging box, but that serves to protect the contents inside...and in this case, it may not if anything falls on top of it!

Yes the NTSC version is in a much better box like the Japanese version, doesnt help matters when Zavvi are in control of the packing tbh

I got mine last night, too. [PS3]

Mine actually arrived in a good condition, no bashes or rips, etc, however the cardboard shipping box it came in was pretty much ripped open at one side down the edges, so much so that you could see everything in the box.

Also, something I was curious about, did anybody not receive any kind of invoice?
I know with Play and sometimes Amazon they just print it on the label on the box but there was nothing with this. Not really a big issue but just a little odd.

I was in the initial 4k but I've not opened it yet to check.
It's not that I collect sealed stuff, just I think it's more that I was waiting to see what was happening with the sticker vs. steel thing.

Why wait when you can check it yourself

BTW . . .don't know if this will cheer anybody up but the booklet in with the game itself is absolutely outstanding. Given that most publishers are just giving the bare minimum now, this is the best I've seen.

We still haven't had conclusive proof of a PS3 stickerbook - just one person on the web said they got a stickerbook

Yup, the manual is thick as and then there's the in-game digital manual! So comprehensive and well thought of.

Haha, tbh it was because I was half considering returning it just because of how much it was vs. what you actually get in it.

I opened it there and it is a steelbook, though.
There was some damage inside the box, it was the white cardboard that holds the book had the strut bits at the back ripped but meh, it's not major and it's inside at least.

No problem Matrix6, thanks very much for the kind words

I would usually be really annoyed and acting pretty OCD about the damage to the box, but to be honest you can tell Konami didn't put a lot of effort into making it durable - Zavvi's packing certainly didn't help, but I personally think that the art book, steelbook and t-shirt will all be better served being stored elsewhere anyway. (How many of you with damaged boxes have sent it back? I figured if they sent it damaged once, it could just end up coming back again but a lot worse, perhaps with the items inside damaged this time. I'll keep the box but won't be using it to store the items or for display purposes.)

Also, I'm not sure if this has already been confirmed/refuted, but somebody commented on my YouTube video unboxing and said they had received a sticker book within their PS3 version of the Limited Edition?!
