Destiny PS4 Developer Discs & Swag
For those fans/collector's of "Destiny", on Monday here in Seattle Bungie Studios held an open-house for fans. The first 300 people (w/ numbered wristband) were given a tour of the studio, but over 1000 people showed up.
Towards the end of the tour Bungie staff handed us one of the first pressing PS4 discs that were made. The first 600 discs that were pressed by Sony went to Bungie staff two weeks before the game was released. The discs came in a plain envelope, with no labeling and were numbered in black sharpie ink. A few days before the open house the employees turned the discs back in and as a surprise to fans they handed them out to us for attending. Quite a collectible since it is one of the first 600 that were made. I am sure some will eventually hit eBay. They also handed out a few different styles of shirts, a hoodie to those waiting overnight in line, two different full size posters (while supplies lasted and each person could only choose one poster so they had to figure out which style they liked better) and then Bungie staff would sign it. There were also a small package of buttons, and a sticker handed out too. Each person who entered the studio with the numbered wristband was given a swag bag with some cans of Red Bull, a Destiny exclusive shirt, and a few other smaller items. |

Wow, that sounds pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing - you wouldn't be looking to sell your signed poster would ya? (PM me if so)

Either way, that was really awesome of Bungie to do. Has anyone posted photos of the event? |

I saw a few auctions on eBay for them, links below if anyone wants to see it, and a few of them include the numbered wristband: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Retail-Devel...item46275fa497 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Destiny-deve...item1c45e5f324 If the disc was stamped "Developer Copy Only" that would be one thing, but they don't appear to be. Any one who has one that was serious about selling I feel would include the numbered wristband. They had told us that 300 wristbands were going to be handed out and each wristband had a number in red ink on the underside, so anyone who was there and got one would probably offer the wristband with it to help at least validate it to some degree. I took some photos but they came out rather poor, mainly due to my inferior camera on my phone. Once inside we were standing close to the employee kitchen/break area and we could take photos, but then ushered up some stairs and told no photos allowed. This area was where some of the employees would be in a circle testing elements of the game, and then we could look over many of the desks/work areas for the employees. Once we were taken downstairs to the main floor we could take photos again of their display cases and artwork on the walls. It was rather chaotic with a line of tables where they would give you a poster to have signed and then after that we were taken into their theater to play a multiplayer match, and then ushered outside. I did get some good photos of the display cases and such though. Last edited by Star Blazers; 09-12-2014 at 03:00 AM. |
