For those who don't follow basketball, Dwayne Wade (the guy on the cover) retired this previous season. One of the all-time great players for sure. The Miami Heat jerseys featured on the cover look so good. Really give off a GTA: Vice City vibe lol.

Part of me wishes they had just a made a steelbook copy of the regular cover. But they both look good.

I would point out that when you make the game the title as "Legends Edition" they should be putting an actual legend of the game on such as Jordan, Bird, Motumbo, Olajuwon, etc - not someone who just retired who was simply a great player (when he actually played).

I just think this was a big miss on putting an appropriate person on the cover (though I do think the cover does look good with that GTA-style look).

yea, D Wayde was a "solid player" a nice back up to have on the court alongside a championship caliber player..but definitely not "legendary status" of the likes of Kobe, Jordan, Lebron, etc..calling D Wayde a part of that group is a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, Wade might not be a "legendary" player in the same class as Jordan, LeBron or Shaq. But he was definitely an all time great player. 3 time champion. 13 time all-star. He's actually scored more points all time than Larry Bird. He's a first ballot hall of famer.

This previous season, his impending retirement drew a lot of attention in the NBA and the fan base. No doubt that's why 2K is using him as a cover athlete.
