Re: Ni No Kuni II Steelbook
I wonder if enough of us write angry emails to Scanavo about this steelbook malarkey, then they may but a stop on it and change the Aus steelbook. This is false advertising... Seriously feel cheated.

But you already got one copy, so why do you begrudge other collectors for getting one copy, too? The steelbook won't be offered in UK, it will be offered in Australia then what are you complaining about? |

My concern is with regards to the blatent false advertisement of the item on the Steelbook website. People were quick enough to complain about the "limited numbered" releases of various Gearbox CEs and the false advertisement, so how is this any different? That is just one example, I am sure there are other examples of false advertisement where people have been mislead and complained about. Again, what I am complaining about is the fact that it has been advertised as an "E3 Exclusive" item, then made available for general release. It is misleading and has made an item desirable on the premise that it is exclusive, then it has been made readily available for another market? I don't understand how you don't see anything wrong with this practice? Let's put it another way:-What if this item had been a collectible statue advertised with a closed print run and they decided to make a second release of the same statue on another production run number because it is desirable. It is exactly the same as the original run statue, but because it was being sold in a different country this makes it right? Your logic is flawed!

So all you want is to get more people to write complain emails to Scanavo and make them change their mind so Australia don't get this "E3 steelbook" right? That's kinda selfish man ??? iPhone ????? Tapatalk |

How many times have you read the word exclusive in an online advertising of a store or shop about the special, steelbook, limited or collector's edition of a game and then you have found out by visiting this forums that a shop or a store in another country was offering the same edition, too? So that means the word exclusive is very often related to the country or region where the shop or store is located, it doesn't mean worldwide exclusive. Re: Ni No Kuni II Steelbook
I think all of this could've been avoided through simple communication by Scanavo. If they were planning on releasing more copies of the steel later in other regions, they should've described the E3 Steel as "USA E3 exclusive" or something. Simply writing "E3 Exclusive" made it sound like this steel was only being offered during E3, which led to a lot of people on Ebay selling it for an inflated price and collectors buying it based on that false premise.
I've seen this steel go for as much as $100 USD on eBay, and do feel bad for people who paid that believing that they were getting an exclusive steel only released for E3. I support everyone who shares the steelbook collecting hobby, so I do not want to complain to Scanavo and take away the chances for other collectors to get this steelbook. But, we should ask them to be more upfront about release plans for future steels so this doesn't happen again. Last edited by Gunmaster51; 08-11-2017 at 12:52 PM. |
