Default Am I too sensible about receiving damaged games?

So this is something I have been wondering about a little and would like to get some insight on. I sometimes receive games that are damaged (mailman carelessly stuffs it into mailbox, damaging it in the process, or poor packaging etc.).

Often not that badly damaged, however, there is noticeable (and visible) damage to the game case. Today I got another of those and just hit up the seller with a request for a replacement. It's not a steelbook, just a regular game, however it is bent, some part of the foil is missing and in the same location there is damage to the plastic of the game case as if it was dragged over a surface repeatedly.

Example of what I mean is here (it's not the game I received today but shows damage that the game also has):

I'm just wondering right now: Should I have just shrugged it off?
