Default Re: Risen 2: Dark Waters Collectors Edition and a very strange exclusive version reve

I seem to remember switching my pre-order from GAME to HMV during the period when GAME were in administration. I now wish I had switched the order back again, as mine arrived packaged in nothing more than a grey plastic mailing bag! Courier was YODEL!

Needless to say, the box was crushed and almost every corner dented

I honestly can't understand how anyone can think that this is an acceptable way to package a Collector's Edition! I'm absolutely gutted, and at the very least I expected a suitable box to have been used

From now on, I'm going to refuse to accept anything shipped in a grey mail bag or delivered by YODEL!

Gutted for you. I get that a lot. The latest was ME3 CE which was just wrapped in brown paper. The really annoying thing is that the customer support seem to think you are being unreasonable when you complain about a damaged box. At the end of the day you are probably paying ~2x the price to have the extra content, if you didn't care about the box and additional content, you would have purchased the standard version!

On a Risen note, I ended up getting mine via Shopto. Free TNT 24 hour delivery. Ordered it at 3PM on Thursday and it arrived at 10AM Friday. They didn't go to much troule packing it (shoved it in a box that was too big with no bubble wrap or anything) but thankfully it arrived in good condition. I opened mine before signing for it which isn't something I usually do.

Big fan of Gothic / Risen so looking forward to getting started on this one.

HMV are certainly not the greatest, they send flat posters for example in regular envelopes so they arrive nice and messed up.

Even when you raise this issue and they dispatch a new order, it comes yet again the same way...real thick company.

In the face of all this incompetence by online retailers. . . .one question.

Why do we put up with it ???
