Good thread idea, but I preferred the different threads for different companies. More organized I feel. But definitely willing to give this a try. It might be better as most of the statue threads aren't that active anyway.

It's going to be my favorite thread though. Will add some statues to the thread that I feel isn't getting enough recognition

Yeah, I'm with you on preferring the different threads, it helps to remember which companies have which statues and what "lines" I've already pre-ordered/ordered from and what ones would be something new - but I created that F4F Thread and realized it'd take a LOT of work to maintain everything on an initial thread post (like I prefer to do), so perhaps this idea could work too.

Guess we'll just have to try it out and see :D

I've still gotta unbox my GH Lara Croft Exclusive statue -- its been sitting upstairs (holding my mousepad on it) since we moved... even though I ordered it early though, I still ended up with a fairly high # according to the box. But just haven't had the time to open it or the place to display it yet :) Haven't seen anyone else on here post theirs yet either though. Guess maybe it wasn't that popular of a statue?

I really hope ThreeA will continue their MGS4 line. Had to pass up the RAY, but am quietly hoping for some BB Corps figures/statues in the near future, hopefully at a more reasonable size and price point. REX takes up enough space as it is lol :P

There's a good possibility we will see Shay made by UbiCollectibles. When Shay was first revealed, UbiCollectibles asked on their FB page if fans would like to see him made and a lot of fans said yes.. So I'm quite sure they are convinced by the response. So we might see him late next year, similar to Altair's release date

I got the Skies of Arcadia Ex Vyse statue from F4F today! I wanted to post some good quality pictures for those that are on the fence about this one. I thought the eyes would bother me but they dont and they arent as strong of an orange as I had thought I saw. Its a considerably light weight statue because the base is not all that heavy. My only complaint is you cant see the Ex Sword Blade very well unless the statue is angled completely at its side. However, I am still very happy with the statue. Well done F4F! :clap:

I got the Skies of Arcadia Ex Vyse statue from F4F today! I wanted to post some good quality pictures for those that are on the fence about this one. I thought the eyes would bother me but they dont and they arent as strong of an orange as I had thought I saw. Its a considerably light weight statue because the base is not all that heavy. My only complaint is you cant see the Ex Sword Blade very well unless the statue is angled completely at its side. However, I am still very happy with the statue. Well done F4F! :clap:

Tips from an ace! Yea, problem is it's gonna cost a ton to ship the exclusive over. The regular edition should be available at my local collectible store. They had the lunging Kratos.

Kratos in armor looks so badass but the regular is more game-accurate and will go well with the rest if I decide to get the Bust and lunging Kratos.

I can give you more information on your clicker bust. Originally it was one of three products I produced as "proof of concept" for the Collectibles line on the new PlayStation Gear online store (it was never considered for a collector's edition as it would have been much too cost prohibitive to make in resin). I based it on the full sized bust that my team created for Naughty Dog.

GameStop came to us a couple years ago and needed a prize for some employee program they have, so I made 50 units for them. That's how some of them ended up on eBay. Once the Gear store went into production, we decided to make 1000 units, bu there was a good in the printing and it put the edition size at 1500. That's incorrect. Only 1000 units were actually manufactured. Glad you like the statue though.

Same here, I have never spent more than $450 on a statue. But its a no brainer for me considering its the best batman sculpt at that size I have ever seen. It will essentially be THE BATMAN statue to own and no doubt soar in value on the second hand market.

I agree there, Arkham Knight is the best Batman design ever in my opinion and that statue will will amazing.

I count 6 spikes missing. That's quite a bit of damage. Still a very, very cheap price (cheapest I have seen for quite some time).
RRP was $349 USD, so that's about $165 appreciation on a heavily used, damaged piece I guess. Percentage wise that's a 47% appreciation. Apply that to a Batman Arkham Knight and you're looking at $1320USD (increase in $422) for a used, partially damaged piece. If it was a mint condition piece you're looking at least 70% increase taking that price to $1530USD. If it was sealed you would be looking at about 100%-150% increase... and yer, it gets a bit ridiculous.

Sealed versions go for much, much higher (or even mint condition ones).

Yeah I saw that. Either way it is the only one sold in the past 3 months wroldwide, damaged or not it should have done better if a mint on it worth anywhere near what those sellers are asking.

I have seen other statues with damage that sell very well when the normal ones are rare and selling for $1,000... even the damaged ones usually at least sell for 3/4 of the value.

But really it does not matter... unless you are doing it as some financial thing and not as a collectable this really does not matter anyways.

I guess what I am trying to say is that the price on the piece (while seemingly high) is actually very good value for money based on the size, detail and scarcity of the piece. Hence why I think a lot of people who usually don't spend anywhere near $899USD on a collectible, will make an exception (like me spending almost twice my budget).

Just opened the Batman Arkham Knight DC Statue (unboxing will go up in about 6 days or so)... it is actually REALLY nice for $100. It is porcelain so it feels really good and high quality (plastic always feel cheap to me no matter how nice it is sculpted).

Once the images came out, people when nuts on the pre-orders. It was so popular that most suppliers had VERY limited stock allocated to them and once they sold out, Sideshow did not supply anymore. The reason why it was shown as low stock for a while is that Sideshow kept selling out, then getting new pieces to complete the 3000 production run until they completed the run. They almost never produce the entire amount of pieces beforehand (in this case 3000). It is still the best Arthas statue to date and is in high demand in the second hand market. There is a reason its value has appreciated over 100% in a matter of a couple of years.

The Sideshow distributed Arkham Batman pose is based on an EXACT 3D printed model of in-game anatomy. I see nothing wrong with the pose. Prime 1 always get it right (check out their Transformers line, PERFECT proportions and posing). To me the pose is epic and will be the best Batman statue for many years.

I also own the statue (was one of the first who preordered). A lot of people fail to understand that Sideshow release statues in BATCHES, hence low stock does not relate to the 3000 entire production run, but the conversions on the waitlist once new stock is ready.

Not true at all. The attention to detail is much higher on NECA as compared to the statue you linked. The level of accuracy of NECA would also be higher. All important factors when deciding on a statue vs figure. Also the NECA figure would be a similar price. This is coming from someone who collects both statues and figures. The beauty of the NECA figures is you get superior detail and the ability to pose it anyway you want.

The only thing we have to go by is Prime 1's previous statues and the typical Japanese attention to detail and quality far outweighs anything that Sideshow has produced in my personal opinion. I believe the Batman is incredibly good value for money even considering I am paying an extra $200 USD to get it to Australia.

I have bought three Sideshow pieces designed in America and made in China and all three had severe design and QA issues. That's a 100% defective rate and meant I returned them all (except one, Arthas, which I got a massive discount for). That is part of the reason why I am so happy the Prime 1 is not an American Sideshow made piece but a Japanese one.

I am happy for you that you think you are getting a really great value for the Prime 1 statue. I have no opinion on that one way or the other as I do not know much about $1,000 retail statues. Me saying you are wrong is my opinion. You don't have to agree with it! Figures are simply statues with the ability to change poses. Aka action figures or whatever else you want to call them. In some cases statues can have more detail than a figure, in some cases figures can (i.e. the NECA vs your DC Comics one), the major difference being the materials used.

In some cases statues can have more detail than a figure, in some cases figures can (i.e. the NECA vs your DC Comics one), the major difference being the materials used.

I said the same... too expensive for me (for almost any collectable really). Same for me, more then the beater car I own. I could never justify getting it, and could not live with myself if I did... if I was well off enough I would get it though as it is awesome.

The way I see it. Instead of getting nine $100 statues, why not get one massive one that is many times more epic and scarce. That 1/3 Batman is a statue that will last a lifetime, a cheap car won't :) I see it as a long term investment in both collecting pleasure and value (value increases with time). A first beater car not only depreciates but experiences wear and tear, so comparing both in terms of value does make not sense at all. Once it sells out, thousands people who initially decided it was too expensive will be hunting one on the second hand market... guaranteed.

Anyway, each to their own. No more statues for me until the 1/3 arrives... Delayed gratification I guess.

My post was in relation to people stating that a 1/3, 34 inch limited edition Prime 1 statue at $899 is over-priced. This is extremely far from the truth, given that the Prime 1 Transformers line of statues (while smaller and more detailed) were over $2000 (or just under). In comparison, the Batman is very good value for money (as opposed to too expensive).

Point is, if someone bought a BEATER car, they would not be taking care of it and it would be in sub-standard condition and poorly maintained. The car you linked, is not a BEATER car, its a showroom car, hence why its in a showroom.

Thought I'd just throw my 2c in here... As a huge Batman fan I would love to pick up the Prime 1 statue as it's everything I could ever hope for in a Batman statue, but two things, actually three things are holding me back.

1. Price, normally I could afford it but the timing at the moment isn't good for me or my family (plus the missus would probably shoot me, lol) + the exchange rate is a killer atm.
2. Space, this thing is huge! I live in a fairly big house but displaying a piece like this would be difficult, which leads me to...
3. Kids, I have three youngsters under seven and I would be petrified everyday to leave the house to go to work & come home to find something smashed on it. Our kids are pretty good & they know not to touch daddy's stuff, but accidents do happen. I'd have to get a glass cabinet or something made up & extra insurance which again adds to the total cost.

Believe me, it is a great value for money piece, but not for me given my situation. I'm waiting to see what SS's next Batman release is - hopefully a statue with a decent pose & price to boot.

Popcultcha have a pretty good price for it at the moment, but you are right, the exchange rate isn't the best now. Through Popcultcha it works out to be about $100AUD cheaper than if imported yourself.

Hawkmoon is PS exclusive unill The Taken King, in which xbox players get all the exclusive stuff, and then PS people get the Jade Rabbit scout rifle.

Heh, it'll sound silly but I didn't realise how big he is after seeing him next to the Reach statue, I read how big they are and I have other comparable ones to almost everything but I can never seem to quite grasp the scale until I see them right next to something I own and sometimes until I see them right here in real life.

He looks good, I pulled the trigger and he should be here, well, today actually, considering it's after midnight already.

Don't know how big they are but maybe his spare arms could go in the base?
I have the MW2 Mactavish one from Kotobukiya and there's space in the base for his extra arms. (And if the detail in the flesh is anything like on him, I'll definitely be happy, for plastic it's great.)

Yeah they generally don't give you the total with shipping until they have it on hand ready to send. EMS to Canada for play arts kai figures is usually around 2000-3000 yen so maybe you can form an estimate from that.

It's pretty good. Nothing special but I've never had any damage. However I've only bought smaller figures from them which they ship in a pretty oversized box, and I can see that not being the case for a larger statue.

Man I hope they do some more Mass Effect Bishoujo statues soon, Miranda, Ashley, Tali, Aria.........there are plenty of options. I still regret selling my Liara :suicide: :( :(

Thanks Flatout... I wonder if you join waitlist for exclusive whether there is a way to still reserve a regular edition at the same time so assuming I don't get lucky on the waitlist, I don't miss out on the regular and assuming I do get lucky then I am not committed to buy two for which I would need a second mortgage on my house.

Just an FYI update, my waitlist reservation for the exclusive polystone batman got converted to an order today.

Interesting how that works. They said "we've found one for you". Wonder if by "found one" probably means some people who initially ordered the exclusive read the discussion earlier in this thread about paying $900 for a statue and decided to cancel.

Anyway, thought it would be helpful info for anyone else wanting the exclusive one. Maybe there are other stock freed up now. Personally, I don't have anything 3rd scale or that big so think it will look pretty cool next to my other Rocksteady batman stuff. We'll see.

It is just a phrase they use. It could be a number of things, they got allotted more from PRIME 1, someone canceled, someone had billing error, ect...

It will look amazing I am sure. I would kill to be able to unbox one on my youtube channel... but I cannot afford one sadly.
