Killzone 3 CE details
After yesterdays discovery that the official Killzone website let slip news of upcoming Collector’s and Limited Editions Roger Moe sent us a tip with some insider details…
The two editions are as follows
Killzone 3 Collector’s Edition:
- Steelbook Packaging
- “Blood and Thunder” DLC map pack
Killzone 3 Helghast Edition:
- Authentic Replica of Helghast Helmet/mask and Stand
- Exclusive DC Unlimited Helghast Figurine
- Killzone Artbook
- Killzone Collectors Edition Steelbook with PSN voucher that offers:
- “Blood and Thunder” DLC Map Pack
- Dynamic PS3 Theme
- Killzone 3 Soundtrack
- All pre-order items (TBC)
- Infamous 2 Demo (TBC)
The Helghast Edition seems like the one to get, though the SteelBook packaging for the Collector’s Edition is sure to please some. No idea what these will actually look like or how much they’ll cost. As always we’ll post more details if we get them.
. . .My jaw just hit the floor. I am so excited for the Helghast edition. Bought! I hope Amazon gives bonus credit for these Killzone CE's.
It was to be expected. I am sure many will compare the Helghast helmet to the Halo 3: Legendary Spartan helmet, and to be honest i'm surprised that Sony didn't do this with the previous Killzone game.
Also proud to see that they haven't dropped the ball and are including the SteelBook version as a pre-requisite in the more elaborate version. Nice touch, and a mistake which Bungie made with the Halo 3: Legendary Edition
Expect it to retail at around £120 though
Which brings me to two other questions not related to price, which I would appreciate confirming:
1) Will these editions be available for the PAL region as well as the NTSC U region?
2) How limited will these be, and also will they be numbered?
Obviously the latter is of big consequence to collector's, as many have had their fingers burnt before being led into believing a CE is limited, only to later discover that it is more common than the standard edition! The former is to be assumed that they will be available in both regions, but you can never assume anything these days
If Mr Roger Moe could possibly enlighten us a little, then it would be greatly appreciated!
Now that the Helghast Edition was announced, it doesn't look like there are any steelbooks. Was the insider mistaken?
I am also disappointed with the non-inclusion of steelbooks. In fact, there appears to be no standard limited edition option, as well. It's just the regular edition of KZ3 or the Helghast one. *shrugs*
As the Helghast edition has not been announced in PAL regions, we might get a different version here, We got the steelbook for the last killzone.
The Helghast Edition comes with all of the above, plus a hardcover art book, a "Cloaking Marksman" action figure and several perk-granting pre-order bonus packs (also available if you pre-order the Collector's Edition). Oh, yes, and it comes with a helmet. You might not think it a macabre memento on your mantelpiece, but you haven't heard the full story. (Come closer.) Inside the helmet ... is the preserved head of the cloaked marksman, still surprised by his sudden encounter with a decapitator-turned-decorator.

Ooooooh Yeaaaah
Euro gets a steelbook aswell, this makes up for the poor Little big planet limited edition the PAL region are getting.
Here's a pic:
Not worth importing, in my opinion, but the steelbook is a damn cool addition.
I guess you could always order the steelbook version by itself when someone spilts it up on eBay.
Did any European shop already list the edition?
Currently non in the UK have any listings, a few people have claim they have have pre-ordered a copy in denmark but give no mention of store.
I wonder how limited this edition will be. Will it still be around months or years later for a much lower price like the Halo 3 and Reach Legendary Editions, or will it actually sell out before a price drop? Do you think Halo is such a popular franchise that they made many more of the Legendary Editions than will be made for the Killzone 3 Heghast Edition? It's a little disappointing to pay $130-$150 for a CE only to see it for close to half the cost a few months later.
Purchased the Helghast Edition at HMV (UK) for just £44.99 online. Huge Box.
