Dark Souls Limited Edition announced

Namco Bandai confirmed that there will be a Limited Edition for Europe. According to CVG the pre-order campaign will start today and allows you to receive a Limited Edition for no extra costs.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a shop which is already taking pre-orders on it so we need to be more patient.

Due out October 2011, the Dark Souls Limited Edition includes the  following:

  • original soundtrack
  • hardcover art book
  • making of video

    both the PS3 and the X360 are on preorder. Still undecided which one to get in the end.
    I buy multiplatform titles for X360 (PS3 is only for exclusives), but considering this is "Demon's Souls 2" I think PS3 will be the "definitive" version. Dunno...guess we'll see...

    Nice find - Had no idea this was coming out. Thanks I will wait to pre-order, Shopto will just ship it in a jiffy bag and it will arrived damaged.

    It was confirmed for the USA in their press release but yeah I haven't see any US retailers carrying it yet....

    I just received an email from ShopTo.net informing me of this, so I will definitely be pre-ordering it right away in order to secure the extra content. I can always change my mind at a later date if need be, as this isn't out until later in the year, and it's easier to cancel than it is to try and track one down after such things sell out on pre-orders...

    Like you, I buy multiplatform games for the Xbox, and only exclusives for the PS3, but I agree that many may opt for the PS3 version to compliment their Demon Souls, in the same way that many people who purchased Dead Rising 2 for Xbox did so because they already had the first game for that platform

    However, one deciding difference for several games is that some games come on multiple discs for the Xbox version, whereas the PS3 version is all on one Blu-Ray disc (Eg, Final Fantasy XIII), so some people may opt for less discs.

    Likewise, sometimes one version benefits from a unique exclusive, as was the case with the recently released Mortal Kombat 9 where the PS3 version featured Kratos

    Not sure if these factors apply to this game though, but it's something to consider when on the fence between the PS3 and Xbox versions of many games

    And yes it also works with pre-orders because I used it for pre-ordering Dark Souls LE (it's called SE here but it's the same if you check the picture) and Ace Combat Assault Horizon LE.

    I also believe their shipping rates are lower than Shopto.net of GAME, nl. £0.99/item for Europe.
    Only problem is they can be a little slower with the shipping.
