Press kits are usually a better investment imo as they can disappear off of all the bays for months at a time and come back at crazy prices

I would say try to get the ghost of sparta press kit for a decent price now unless you think you'd have more trouble getting the GoW CE for an ok price later on?

Bought it for (roughly converted) 125 Euros. The guy, from an online competition, won the XBox 360 version. So the outer sleeve is for the X360. He swapped out the disc and placed an LE disc for PS3. Also placed LE DLC in the box. Keeping in mind non of this is mentioned, and i just took it for granted... the statue hadn't had the batteries changed in 2 years and were leaking (i had to clean it up), luckily no physical damage. The art book cover is slightly damaged. At least the backpack is minty as well as the actual steelbook.
Have i been shafted in this deal? how much would this "incomplete" CE really be worth to a not-so-serious-but-pedantic collector?
PS: is the PS3 steelbook smaller in size to the X360 steelbook?

Yeah it's still a pretty good price although would be interesting how you would go about it reselling it as you'd have to explain why a PS3 game is in a Xbox CE :rotf:

Anyways about the steelbook, DVD sized steelbooks are referred to as G1 size, PS3 / Blu-ray sized steelbooks are referred to as G2 size

Often time publishers will make 1 size steelbook (G1 size) for both PS3 and Xbox CE's to save money even though the case size for PS3 games is G2 and therefore PS3 steelbook cases should be G2 sized. Bad Publishers :hammer:

There is most definitely a G2 steelbook for the Crysis 2 Nano Edition and it is usually more sought after

Vhal is right with these - most of them can be picked up really cheaply

The Darkness one you picture you can get for a few euros..
Darkness 2 G1 - 5 euros
CoD MW2 G2 - 15 euros max
AC3 G2 US pre order- this used to be really cheap but hs gone higher lately so about 15 euros but can still be picked up for around 10
FFXiii-2 G1 - the G2 is now scrae and gets about 25 - 30 euors but G1 still low - aorund 10 -12 euros
Resi 6 G2 - 5 - 10 euros only
Fear 3 G2 - that is the CE one so a little more valuable prob around 25 - 30 euros

That's my best guess!!

No problem and good luck.. The really vulnerable bits are the weapons that have special cut out areas in the polystyrene container to sit in but any pressure on them levers them against the polystyrene box and snaps them... A little piece of bubble rap around the weapons may help but only f done really carefully nit by a ham fisted seller... O_O

So,based on your price & what the other one sold for i would say around $30-$40 is a fair price. In that case i too got a bargain deal:) I managed to snag this book,some other press info items,a new promo copy of the game & a few other goodies for $70 inc postage,so by looks of it i didnt to bad at all:)

Hey everyone. I just picked this up at the swap meet.. Having a hard time determining its value. Maybe a year ago I looked and it was at 60-70 dollars.. Now I'm seeing ones with bad labels going for 70-80, and decent condition ones going for 120-150..

I'm pretty new to collecting, but this thing is in pristine condition. I'm wondering if someone could look at these pictures and tell me if its in good enough shape to warrant a higher price than what I'm seeing on ebay.

No idea on value sorry, but for me personally, regardless of how awesome or rare a game is, no box/manual - no buy. Unless I'm buying it to play, then I don't care, but I wouldn't pay a high price for a cart only, regardless xx

I'm with Vhal on this one! However even the cart is always listed for between ?60 to ?150 although I haven't seen an auction for a while and I'm not convinced they sell for these higher prices.

These aren't PS3/360 games that came with a box that was built to last and was released last week. SNES boxes were cardboard and got thrown away 95% of the time and the 5% that weren't thrown away most are in crap condition..

CIB this game would be 5-600 dollars easy. If you have that kind of money for the box and manual, more power to you.. This is about as good as it gets for snes collectors.

Yeah, I collect retro games too, so I do know that CIB means more money, but I still choose CIB over cart only, any day. Sorry.

I mean, I'm not made of money, but I wouldn't drop 70-200 on a cart only, I'd much rather hang fire, and save my funds for a CIB (even if it means paying triple the price)

Lego harry potter collector's edition, pal, ps3 (Everything except the game are untouched)

Tekken 6 Limited edition, pal, ps3 (Box has taken slightly some damage and there's one piece of tape that I don't dare to take off. Game is used but everything else is untouched. Hoodie is still in package)

Fallout new vegas collector's edition, pal, ps3 (opened, since game has been played. Everything else is untouched like those playing cards and stuff)

The spyro and crash bandicoot are harder as they are iconic PS characters and anything with them on it is collectible

I'd value them around 30 - 40 USD a piece or so but I'd never spend that personally

I am so sorry Matt :( it's a real weakness with these and very hard to fix... I have talked to metal workers about soldering them but it is so fine :(

Superglue may be your best bet but you are not alone...

I had a perfect set, packed them superbly, sent in the uk and they still got broke... :(

I think its hard to sell as a lot, unless low price interesting for resellers.

Imho, you should sell the popular steelbooks seperately.

The only steelbooks that are hard to sell are probably pes/fifa/battlefield.

The rest are fairly interesting and popular steels.

Problem with doing that is no one really ways to buy a lot of common steelbooks

The rarer ones will garner interest IMO

If you were to do 2 lots you could try G2 lot and G1 lot as that would allow specific collectors to go for the lot they want more

The one available on forbidden planet is worth the dig, it is the full art concept of all 3 games combined. I know that the Dev Clameshell includes some of the earlier concept art but most of it relates to Dead Space 3 thats why I believe this one is way more "complete". When I was on the site for the first time there was not much of information available and it was me who requested them to update and give the additional missing details. I ordered mine last week and If I am not wrong there is a signed print included as well by Patrick O'Keefe.
50? seems to be a standard price. I got the Halo 4 and the Art of Assassins Creed 3 for the same price. And in fairness, remembering the AC3 Art Book Scandal, they deliver quick and are very reliable.

Its exactly what it states on the sticker,a prototype console. Most likely sent to perhaps a game developer for testing purposes of games to be released,possibly to a US testing department for compliance purposes or perhaps basically like a salesman sample. What you have is simply one of the first PS3 consoles made before official production & release of the console to the general public. Normally anything for Dev has something on there that states this but,not all the time. These were never packaged in boxes like you see in the stores,just the console in a standard packing box was sent to whereever. Nice to have & nice to look at knowing this was one of the first to be made before joe public could buy them:)

I bought one from some guy in the UK a while back and paid around 20 quid from memory. Downside was that the dicks at the post office thought it was a real bullet and they sent it surface mail, as in by boat - took three months to arrive. <_<

I have to say though, I wasn't planning on picking this up (despite the fact that I always wanted one), but when I saw it in-person, I was floored. I had to have it right then and there. Because of its impressive size (and just overall charm), the piece commands the attention of anyone that comes in to close contact with it. :D

It probably would have been AC 1 as thats when it originally appeared. As mentioned though,wearing one around maybe considered having a dangerous weapon on your person,that point sticks out & really could do some serious damage to someone:) For the necklace,at a guess i would say $20-$30 if its a genuine type item & someone hasnt made copies of an original,which happens. The ring also should come in a small black box with the AC logo on it

Thats one of the biggest pains in the bum. Buying something for less than what it costs to ship it to you. Sometimes shipping costs are even double of what your paying for the actual item itself:(

Thats another problem again. If your getting more than one item from one place they should combine shipping but,they arent obligated to do so,legally or otherwise,its their decision. The fact that to send two items in one package wouldnt cost what you paid in postage is irelevant to the seller,its an extra bonus in their pocket. I have had sellers charge me stupidly in the past & i hate it is a polite way to put it. Worse is knowing that if they send one item or two items it would cost exactly the same yet your charged twice. So,you might as well not buy anything & write to them asking if they would like some free money,lol:D The fact you got it in a bloody jiffy bag sucks even worse,especially considering it would cost the same as being sent in a small box & occasionally cheaper to send in a box. I sent something the other day,it cost $8 to send in a box & it would have cost $12 to send in a bag. Stupid really

I believe the white one you are referring to is actually a Brotherhood statue

If that's the case the brotherhood statue is worth far more, potentially 100 euro to the right buyer if is the right version

Black revelations statue can be had easily for 40 - 50 USD, not that rare

Coin by itself has been known to sell for 50 USD but usually around 25 USD
