Game. Was put back till early next year
The next golden period of games is Late Feb to end of March.
The last Friday in March is usually a big release day, so i'm guessing this might be put back until the 25th of March 2011
I seem to vaguely remember posting this over a year ago, and the release was previously put on hiatus, but now seems likely that it will get a release this year
Originally due out last autumn, it is now due to be released on the 1st of September 2011 for £59.99 - I've personally had this held as a pre-order with GAME since last June!

No word whether the model included is die cast, or whether it is just a cheap plastic moulded model, although I fear for the latter if other CE's (Eg, Mortal Kombat) are anything to go by... It's deceiving, as it appears to look like a die cast model, but I suppose such a thing would make the CE far too heavy to realistically ship
LOL - I too have had this order for many many months and completely forget about it.
I haven't heard much about the game, Hopefully it doesn't turn into a duke nukem.
Just got an eMail from GAME about this. Seems the release date has now slipped to 2nd of September 2011... Not that I think one day matters much after nearly a year of delays
Looks like it is turning into the next Duke Nukem Forever! Lol!
Don't worry, your order is still live and will be despatched prior to its release date via your chosen method of delivery.
Release date for UK is now 2nd September 2011 for £59.99.

Special Edition Includes:
A collectable replica of the 1970 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T Six pack
A map of San Francisco
Two exclusive in-game vehicles
The "Mass Chase" challenge
And more!
Updated, thanks...
FYI the price is 69.99... we list the RRP as set by the publisher. Not whatever the discounted store price is...
I see a lot of CE's with stupidly high RRP's for CE's, which end up being cheaper upon release day. For example, a large CE like HAlo Reach Legendary Edition may have had an RRP of around £150, but if the release price was only £99.99 then I think that's the price we should go with
So who's price do you go by?
If GAME is selling it for 99 and Play is selling it for 109 and Zavvi is selling it for 95 and the publisher's official store is selling at the RRP of 120?
The point of including RRP is to determine how much a title has appreciated or depreciated from where the publisher initially valued the product. honestly if it's selling at a discount on day 1 that's a perfect example of why RRP should be in the database.
Really RRP is the only "official" value a CE release will ever have, no matter how ridiculous it might seem, so to me that makes it an important data point to capture.
I actually started writing a tool a while back that would automatically go out and fetch prices from retailers and track the average value of a game over time, and give people links to where they could find it cheapest but I've been distracted with all kinds of other feature requests particularly stuff like adding more consoles/portables/press kits to the database which has multiplied my back log of games that need to be added to the DB (and of course spending time to chip away at the back log of game updates) that it's been put pretty far on the back burner
Trailer showing off this edition has become available.
The game has gone up in price in the UK by £10 @ GAME, Now £69.99. for those who pre-ordered already however the price will be £59.99.
Please do not worry, your credit / debit card will be charged with the lower amount as originally agreed when you placed the order. This is merely one of the benefits of the GAME 1st To Play Preorder Service!
So did anybody see this?

Apparently some preorders will be getting a yellow vinyl.
Haven't spotted it anywhere, though.
that looks good...im a sucker for a vinyl
Thanks for the heads up, I too want the vinyl. Think they are so much better than CD's, in terms of collecting anyway.
Any word on this promo vinyl? been wondering for ages about where they are issuing these?
I've checked every main place I can think of every now and then since I posted that but I've not seen any mention of it.
Maybe they never went through with it or a different region got it exclusive, I imagine it would be a little late to do it now.
Here's an unboxing of the Collector Pack with the vinyl surprisingly tucked inside.

Vinyl is sweet indeed but the replica model is what made me fall in love with this CE. It looks like a diecast model without the opening doors, hood and trunk but I don't really care if it's diecast or not. It looks pretty wizard, especially since the Dodge Challenger is my favorite car of all time.
Shame it's only available exclusively for Europe. Stores here don't get R2 CE and this is by far my favorite R2 CE.
EDIT: Could someone tell me how to embed YouTube videos? Appreciate it.
nice, ill try to get the vinyl seperately on ebay then, thanks
