The Borderlands Game of the Year Edition is released today, Included is the game along with all of the DLC packs at a cost of about what you’d spend on just the DLC Packs alone (it’s a good game worth picking up if you haven’t already).
If you haven’t already heard though, recently added to the features included with this edition is the inclusion of the first ever playable demo of the long awaited Duke Nukem Forever.
Gearbox (Borderland’s developer) took over development of DNF from the original developer 3DRealms. A playable demo was first unveiled at the recent Penny Arcade Expo and now the Demo will be made available to those who buy the Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands.
Capcom posted up a video unboxing of the Dead Rising 2 High Stakes Edition due out next week.
Most everyone I’ve talked to who has pre-ordered this edition recently received an email from Capcom stating that it is on back-order, including myself. I wasn’t too happy with the comment on the video of “… hopefully you got your copy.” does he know something we don’t?
Originally scheduled for release on November 16th, Little Big Planet 2 has been delayed until sometime in January of 2011. The official statement from Media Molicule:
LittleBigPlanet 2 is a crazy dream, a dream to allow players to make whatever kind of game they want, but also to play though a great adventure of drama and excitement, power-ups, and cinematics. But like all of the most ambitious ideas, it can be a considerable challenge to turn these dreams in fun games. We’ve all been working like powered-up space ninjas and we’re almost there, but because we love what we’ve made, and we love our little sack-friends, and most of all we love all our fans out there, we couldn’t let you all get together until we knew we were giving you the best experience imaginable. Which is why we’ve taken the hard decision to delay the worldwide release of LittleBigPlanet 2, originally slated for later this year to January 2011.
We know this will come as disappointing news for all you LittleBigPlanet fans, and believe us, we are disappointed too. We are a tight-knit team and we take enormous pride in our work, so to raise the bar we’ve set with the original LittleBigPlanet, a game that has been so embraced by all, we’ve agreed to allow ourselves a bit more time to deliver the experience that our great fans and community deserve. We are truly sorry, but hope you understand that we have to build the best possible game, as it is the foundation of our community.
On the upside, we are going to find a way to give more of you a taste of LBP2 prior to launch, so stay tuned.
Thanks for your continued love and support, it won’t be long – we promise.
Lots of love from all at Mm.
…or maybe it’s Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty Edition? Actually it’s the latter, according to the Wall St Journal. Since the Wrangler is featured in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Chystler is releasing a limited edition Jeep to celebrate.
The Wrangler will also be the “Hero” vehicle in the Call of Duty: Black Ops video game due out next month. To celebrate, Jeep will produce a limited-edition Call of Duty Jeep.
No details (and sadly no pictures) of this Limited Edition Jeep Wrangler have been release. If they were going for most expensive and ridiculous limited edition ever then they’re certainly taking the cake with this one. Here’s hoping they at least “bundle” a copy of the game with the Jeep, preferably the Prestige edition.
The recent rumors were true, Call of Duty Black Ops will be receiving both Hardened and Prestige Editions. In an attempt to 1up Moden Warfare too it will include a video surveillance RC car. It also looks like the game will be housed in a SteelBook case The complete package is as follows:
RC-XD Video Surveillance Vehicle
Fully custom RC vehicle modeled after in-game RC-XD Killstreak Reward
Video camera to send wireless video to Transmitter
Microphone to send wireless audio to Transmitter
Digital proportional steering and throttle
Independent suspension
Display stand
RC-XD Transmitter
2” backlit TFT 220 x176 color screen to receive video from car
Integrated speaker to receive audio from car
Custom pistol grip style RC controller
High and low speed settings
Up to 200ft control range
Includes the full Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened Edition
Limited edition Black Ops Collector’s Medal w/display case
4 extra playable co-op maps not in the standard edition
While those in Europe were already granted a CE release for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, those of us in North America were left out in the cold… until now.
A Limited Edition of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood has been announced for North America and is quite different from the CE that Europe is receiving.
Included is the typical bonus disc with behind the scenes content, an artbook, a fancy case, and the always welcome physical game map, but the real treat is the included jack-in-the-box featuring a character from the game.
The interesting thing here is that there are different jack-in-the-box characters depending on where you buy your LE. GameStop will be selling them with the Harlequin character while all other retailers will have the Doctor.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Limited Edition will be released on November 16th for 360, PS3, and PC at a price of about $100.

Every major release in the Halo franchise, has had a Halo themed Limited Edition console release to celebrate it. Halo Reach will be no different with a Limited Edition of the Xbox 360 recently announced.
The Silver console will be based on the new Slim Xbox 360 design and have Halo themed graphics. In addition to a copy of the regular edition game it will also include 2 Silver controllers with graphics matching the console, a 250GB hard drive, Component Video cables, a headset and all the built in features you’d expect from a Slim 360 (such as Wi-Fi).
The console will go on sale September 14 for $399 currently only announced for the US but if past Halo consoles are any indication it will be available everywhere. Also if past LE console releases are any indication of how this one will sell, you’d be advised to buy it on release if you’re at all interested in owning one.
The Capcom Blog recently unveiled details about the upcoming Zombrex Edition of Dead Rising 2 which will be exclusive to North America.
Available for both Xbox 360 and PS3, the Zombrex edition will come in a SteelBook case and includes a plethora of Zombrex branded goodies including a syringe pin, prescription pad and Zombie Outbreak Pamphlet among other things. It of course also includes more traditional CE bonuses such a hard cover Art Book and a movie disc with a full-length feature film as well as a making-of documentary.
Slated for release on September 28th, the Zombrex Edition will run you about $80.
Personally I think this is a much cooler CE than the Outbreak Pack recently announced for Europe, though I see it more as a mea culpa from Capcom to North America or not giving us a CE release for the first Dead Rising while Europe got the SteelBook.
