I just found out that Gamestop is no longer taking pre-orders on this.
I already got mine in but the clerk at the store was lamenting that he couldn't get one for himself.
Here's hoping this winds up to be a fairly limited release.
That'd be nice, but I' doubt it to be a limited release. Probably has more to do with it being a week out more than anything.
even still, this wasn't marketed as a pre-order only release or anything... a lot of CEs make it to store shelves... this one wont
I called 3 gamestops in my surrounding area and they all said no more pre-orders. Awesome.
Amazon and Best Buy are both still taking pre-orders for this game. Gamestop just stops taking Pre-Orders for CE really early for some reason. You will definitely be able to find this game after the release.
I've pre ordered collectors editions from Gamestop the day before.
Weird, In NH and CO they have never let me pre-order a CE from Gamestop if the game is due to come out in a week or 2. They told me that was policy, but I don't always believe what they tell me at Gamestop. Like I said before, Best buy and Amazon still have pre-orders available for force unleashed 2, so if you really want it use one of those two. They almost always have CE left over too and will once this game gets released.
I picked this up yesterday (pics should be up tonight or tomorrow)...
I must say I'm really disappointed in this CE
--------
First thing I noticed was that it was exceptionally light... I initially thought "damn I guess they neglected the SteelBook at the last minute" but that's not the case, it does indeed have a SteelBook inside but it's made of a different material or something because it feels cheap and almost lighter than a plastic case. It is an official "SteelBook" brand case so I don't know if they changed their manufacturing process or if this was a one time cheap deal for the game.
If this is a sign of SteelBooks to come then I might just stop collecting them.
------
The next thing is that this case has an ill-constructed plastic box holding everything together, it sits about as level as the crap-tacular Mortal Kombat vs DCU CE box... ok, it's not THAT bad, but it's close.
Sometimes when cases wont stand upright for photographing I'll put a razor blade under them to help level them out (as it acts like a really thin wedge), to prop this one up I had to stack 2 blades and it was still unstable.
------
Finally, and those who have bought this take heed... the box is sealed with those circular stickers over the flap. rather that cut seals like this I prefer to remove them, slowly pealing off the sticker with a razor blade... it started out ok and then the sticker just flopped off taking a semi-circular chunk of the artwork with it... just like the problems people had with the Dante's Inferno CEs...
Thankfully this happened on the top of the case, so the only "paint" that was removed from the plastic was the solid white of the top flap, had this occurred on the back and taken some of the actual art-work I'd be pissed.
after that happened I stuck the tape back on as best I could and just took a razor to it cutting the sticker instead.... I hate doing that but... eh, whatever.
-------
Though the most disappointing thing is the fact that inside that plastic box is nothing more than the steelbook, and a DVD-case-sized cardboard box that holds the USB drive... THATS IT.
Ok there goes all my excitement for the release.
There's still plenty left in the UK, no seems to be sold out yet.
I think I will wait for this one to come down in price.
That's probably for the best.
the only reason I picked this one up is because of the SteelBook, with all the crappy CEs that have been coming out lately I've decided to cut down on what I buy only buying stuff for games I want or CES that I think are really neet or will hold value.
I bought this one simply because I'm a sucker for SteelBooks but even that was a disappointment.
Maybe the PAL version will be different, have to wait and see if anyone got one yet.
I agree with everything twisted said about this collector's edition. The outer box is made of cheap plastic and was not made well at all. The art on it scratches off very easily.
I only had two stickers on mine, one on top and one on bottom, none on the back. I took the bottom one off and it peeled off just a bit. I then took the box apart from the bottom and removed the game that way so as not to mess with the top.
The contents were very unsatisfactory. The cardboard box with the USB drive was completely unnecessary. I kept looking for something else in there. This is definitely one of the worst collector editions I have ever bought.

Thanks for the info guide, maybe add it to the worst collector's edition thread. .
I had a sticker on the top and one the bottom as well... on mine the top flap hinged on the front of the box and opened at the back of the box, hence the sticker was folded over the corner of the top and the back of the case.
I have a letter opener I use to carefully pry open standard box flaps so that I don't add any new creases doing so... that always bugs me.

The game review isn't favorable. Most likely you will see price drop pretty soon. I'll wait until this game hits $35 or lower.
I was planning on buying this, but seeing how it looks like it's poor quality, I'll wait for it to drop in price. Hopefully it'll be quick, as the game did garner mediocre reviews, though I did enjoy the demo that was on Marketplace.
Well the priced finally dropped to £26 which is a great price considering it's now completely sold out.
Wow - everyone was right about this edition, it sooooo light. Couldn't believe it, also has the two stickers on the top and base are too loose.
Have decided to keep it sealed as it's so fragile and will likely fall part if I open it up.
Yikes! I hope to see a steep price-reduction in the next few months.
