Other info (description/exclusivity/etc.):
Wrestling fans, rejoice! We and the rest of the millions (and millions!) had our voice heard on who should grace the cover of the collector's edition of WWE '12. After a grueling month of voting, THQ has revealed that the most electrifying man of all of sports entertainment has triumphed over John "Fruity Pebbles" Cena (just like he will on Wrestlemania XXVIII) to claim the right to be called the collector's edition's cover boy. If ya suh-mell what The Rock and THQ is cookin', then get ready to bring it! What's that? You think Punk, Cena and Orton are more deserving of gracing the collector's edition cover? That's what you think? It doesn't matter what you think!
THQ have today announced that WWE legend The Rock has won the battle, and the auspicious honour of gracing the cover of the collector’s edition of WWE 12, the forthcoming release from the renowned WWE gaming franchise. In a face-off against John Cena, his opponent in the main event at next year’s WrestleMania XXVIII, The Rock was selected by voters in a franchise-first opportunity to choose a cover Superstar for a WWE videogame.
And if you voted for anyone else for the cover, don’t fret too much because ultimately IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!
The WWE 12 Collector’s Edition is slated to include the following material:
- Foil sleeve cover packaging featuring The Rock
- Copy of WWE ’12 videogame
- The Rock playable in-game character
-Exclusive Foil Topps Trading Card featuring The Rock
-Art Image of The Rock
-WWE Blu-Ray/DVD featuring:
1. WWE Championship Match – Booker T vs. The Rock – SummerSlam – 19th August, 2001
2. Intercontinental Championship Match – Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam – Raw – 16th September, 2002
3. World Heavyweight Championship Match – Triple H vs. Kane – Raw – 23rd June, 2003
4. 60-Minute Iron Man Match for the WWE Championship – Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar – SmackDown! – 18th September, 2003
5. WWE Championship Match – Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio – SmackDown! -18th March, 2004
WWE 12 is set for release in the UK on 25th November 2011.
Not bad if we'll get it for $80. They should have added a Team Bring It shirt, though. While it'll raise the price to $100, it'd still be a pretty sweet deal.
Nothing special
usual tosh for a CE cant really call it a ce when it has nothing collectable...
Crap CE.
This is 1 CE you can probably pick in the bargain bin years from now. The WWE 09 CE is still on sale in shops at dirt cheap prices and nobody buys them still.
I don't know if I'm the only one here who thinks that THQ has put up an awesome (pun intended) CE... and that's da troof. The WWE in video gaming has never been muchof a powerhouse so maybe this will explain this CE, a CE that will never appeal to collectors.
To the IWC (that's Internet Wrestling Community) and wrestling fans like me though, it's a different story. This is already well put. The Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle Iron Man match is already enough to warrant the Solemn's assumed $80 price tag, then you have Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio and Y2J vs. RVD... on a single disc and on Bluray nonetheless! Thanks THQ for this CE and for WWE '12, your magnum opus since Here Comes The Pain!
