Fable II Pictures Uploaded

Fable II was released today with many fans picking their games up last night.  Now you can see what the final version of the Limited Collector’s Edition actually looks like. Fable II went from being one of the best LCE packages this year, to something that probably isn’t worth the extra money to most.

Gear of War 2 Midnight Meyhem Bonuses

Kotaku is reporting that someone on the order of 2000 stores with in the US will be hosting “Midnight Mehem” events on the Gears of War 2 launch, November 7th. Those in attendance of such events will receive a code that will give them “an exclusive in-game gold-plated Hammerburst Assault Rifle for use in multiplayer gameplay.”

This should make collectors happy as it will go nicely with the code for a gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle for use in multiplayer gameplay that will be included with the Limited Edition of the game.

Naruto Limited Edition Coming in a SteelBook

I’ve received news that the upcoming Limited Edition of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm will be arriving in a SteelBook. This is good news for all you metal case collectors out there.

It’s arriving exclusively on PS3 November 4th.

GameStop no longer taking PreOrders on WOW Collectors Edition expansion.

While we don’t typically cover PC Games here at Collector’s Edition this interesting bit of news is sure to hit home with collectors of all games. Kotaku is reporting that GameStop, as of Wednesday, has closed pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition of the new World of Warcraft expansion pack; Wrath of the Lich King. Citing that they had sold so many pre-orders that they might not even have enough to fulfill all of them.

An Internal memo to imployees reads:

Due to the number of reserves taken thus far, we are quickly approaching our allocation and may not be able to fulfill all reserves taken through close of business on Wednesday, 9/17.

Only time will tell but this could make WOW:WotLC the fastest selling Collector’s Edition in history, and more likely than not, increase it’s value such that’s one of the more saught after CEs in the gaming world.

Fable II Pub Games Free

This is somewhat late news, but for those who missed it. If you have pre-ordered Fable II through EB, Gamestop, Best Buy, or another participating retailer in the US then as of August 11th you should be able to get an Xbox Live Marketplace code to download the Fable Pub Games for free. Considering the pub games go for 800MP ($10 US) in the marketplace this is a pretty good deal.
