The White Slipcase Edition of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is exactly the same as the normal version of the game but it comes with a White cardboard slipcase with an image of Snake standing and looking up

History:

The White Slipcase edition is a HMV exclusive and UK only, it never came sealed.

To celebrate the release and the exclusive rights to the White Slipcase Edition. HMV organised a signing event 19 days prior to the release of the game. For a £5 pre-order fee, fans could get the White slipcase (not game just slipcase) signed by:

  • Hideo Kojima Series Creator, director, producer
  • Yoji Shinkawa - lead artist
  • Yumi Kikuchi - Japanese voice Raging Raven  (Note:  UK version does not contain her voice)

Only 300 copies were made available to sign at this event.

 

Pre-order bonus:
If you pre-ordered the White slipcase edition, HMV also supplied a sample soundtrack CD with songs from the offical soundtrack. The CD came in a clear plastic CD Wallet.

 

Availability:
The White slipcase Edition is exclusive to HMV in the UK.

    For the really popular games 500 thousand (half a million) is usually the cut off point. They almost always make enough to cover pre-orders and then some so as long as you’re pre-ordering I wouldn’t worry about not getting one.

    It may also be worth noting that there are regional variations, with the UK release featuring the BBFC certification opposed to the PEGI logo

    I would say that the black and white should be separate entries in the database

    they sound like two completely separate editions

    I would list them as (Black Slipcase) and (White Slipcase)

    Gurps maybe you should also include this. A Black Sleeve signed - ONLY 15 were available for signing at Zavvi! Beautiful. I want it!!!

    Only 5 were signed by all 3.




    The other 10 were signed by just Shinkawa and Kojima
