CollectorsEdition.org will be joining with thousands of other websites in a blackout protest on January 18th from 8AM to 8PM (-5 GMT)
We’re doing this to alert our visitors as to the very real potential dangers of two bills that are being discussed in the US Congress right now, the “Stop Online Piracy Act” (SOPA) and the “Protect IP Act” (PIPA). While these bills have noble goals of protecting copyright holders they are far too broad and threaten the very nature of the internet. At their core they would allow US media companies the ability to black list any website they feel infringes on their property, and do so without any due process.
Should either of these bills pass it will effect the internet freedoms not just of those in the USA but the world as a whole.
Collector’sEdition.org will be closed to show you what could potentially be a permanent reality for nearly any website that allows user posted content.
There is a lot you can do to help stop this, even if you’re not a citizen of the USA…

Lots of you wrote in to tell us about the recently revealed Collector’s Edition of the Upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3.
![Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition (Xbox 360/PS3) [NTSC/PAL] Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition (Xbox 360/PS3) [NTSC/PAL]](http://collectorsedition.org/uploads/2012/01/ninja_gaiden_3_collectors_edition-540x340.jpg)
This Edition looks to come in a nice box and includes all of the content you’d expect from a higher end CE. A CD soundtrack an artbook and a pair of figurines. Fans of Dead or Alive will also be happy to see the inclusion of a voucher for a special version of the Dead or Alive 5 demo which includes 4 playable fighters (as opposed other versions of the demo which only include 2 fighters).
Scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 March 20th in North America and March 23rd in Europe. No official pricing has been announced and it doesn’t seem to be available for pre-order anywhere yet but it’s rumored to be priced around $100 USD.

As is the trend with most modern games with a lot of DLC content WB recently announced a “Komplete” Edition for the 2009 franchise reboot: Mortal Kombat. Unlike most complete editions this one doesn’t just bundle the DLC along with the original game, also included are all 15 classic costumes that were originally only offered as pre-order intensives (1 per store at that) or bundled with either of the very expensive CEs that released along side the standard edition. Also included is a 15 track soundtrack as well as a copy of the 1995 film of the same name, making it much more content rich than either of the CEs that were previously released
Due out on February 28th in North America and March 2nd in Europe, on both Xbox 360 and PS3 no price has been announced yet.

Thank you to everyone who wrote in to tell us about the leaked Collector’s Edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines. French Gaming site Gamekyo broke the announcement.

The graphic above clearly shows that the CE will come in a nice looking display box along with a statue of the iconic power loader along with some in-game content. It’s unclear which region the CE is slated for, though considering the game has already been released in North America (correction: it was scheduled for release in November but pushed back) and the leak occurred in France I would venture a guess that this will be at very least a UK release, possibly all of Europe. I would suspect we will get more details including pricing once it gets closer to the ambiguous “Spring 2012” release date.

Futureshop in Canada seems to be getting lots and lots of exclusive SteelBooks recently. The latest of which is a SteelBook that is included along side pre-orders of Zelda Skyward Sword for the Wii.
This is a G1 sized case and apparently it will ONLY be included with pre-orders placed between October 26th and November 20th. Also it seems that it’s only included with the standard edition of the game not the Limited Edition bundle with the Gold Wii Remote.
Sadly Futureshop does not ship outside of Canada, which is a shame as this would make an excellent addition to any Zelda fan’s collection.
