Thanks to Gu8 for the Inter and AC Milan FIFA 12 steelbooks! :D I also already had a Juventus FIFA 13 steelbook, so I threw that in for the picture too.

I'm a massive football fan and I have a soft spot for a lot of Italian teams as I've watched Serie A since I was 3 years old. I went to Rome this year as well to see Roma V Lazio (not the cup final, the league game) and it was intense! Love Italy, Forza Italia! :D

Already have the full Nolan trilogy in steelbooks, but they released new ones this year. I have all of the older Batman movies, just not in steelbook, but I chose to get Batman & Robin and Batman Forever along with TDKR as it meant I could get three, instead of two.

Gonna pick up Batman and Batman Returns, along with the newer Batman Begins and TDK steelbooks sometime soon :) xx

Haha, not all of the stuff in those pics was for my birthday, a few things were just recent purchases (such as the Zelda 3DS, etc) and the Dishonored Launch Kit is from further back, that was part of Allan's birthday presents back in May :haha: :) xx

I always do. Apparently "please wrap in a generous amount of extra bubble wrap" means send it in a non-padded envelope with a thin layer of bubble wrap around it. I'm getting really tired of it.

I've tried explaining what proper packaging should be to so many sellers and it just goes in one ear and out the other by the time I get the package

you don't need to ship in a box but you do need to pack carefully and with enough layers of protection

Yup, and it all seems pretty basic. It honestly makes me question the efficacy of a large portion of the human gene pool. These people shouldn't need to be told this stuff--not that it matters, anyway, because they just ignore it and still pack it like crap. lol

I have had steelbook editions delivered with utterly battered steels and a row ensues with the seller who thought that 'because the disc was immaculate that was all buyers cared about'....

You gotta think that if steels and CE bits were universally accepted as having a high value no one would get a good deal ever...

It has got to be really specific - most sellers genuinely believe they have gone the extra mile for you... Most are not resellers who understand collectors and are trying to describe stuff very precisely they are average joes who just don't see items like we do. Don't give them a hard time... They really don't get it and why would they...

I know and it does suck... And I now understand why it is possible to get a great deal at auction from a 'novice' - you are really paying for the risk... Sometimes, many times, it pays off but other times its a hassle and it sucks...

You've all got to remember... This is learned stuff not a basic human understanding...

I have had steelbook editions delivered with utterly battered steels and a row ensues with the seller who thought that 'because the disc was immaculate that was all buyers cared about'....

You gotta think that if steels and CE bits were universally accepted as having a high value no one would get a good deal ever...

It has got to be really specific - most sellers genuinely believe they have gone the extra mile for you... Most are not resellers who understand collectors and are trying to describe stuff very precisely they are average joes who just don't see items like we do. Don't give them a hard time... They really don't get it and why would they...

Give them very specific instructions and offer to pay the difference if it costs more... Most have only sold a handful of items and maybe all their others survived the journey in a piece of tissue...

I tell them that I am very, very fussy and I want them to please scrutinize it very carefully. I also tell them to wrap it in a generous amount of extra bubble wrap because they are very fragile and I don't want it getting damaged at all. There is NO excuse for them still royally mucking it up.

Even if I didn't do that, though. Regardless of understanding collectors or not, shouldn't it be common practice to send things in a way so that they don't get damaged? That just seems like basic level business. Like the people that send boxed games in a padded envelope. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the tiniest amount of pressure will result in major damage to the product. You don't have to understand the mentality of your buyer, but it is the seller's job to deliver the item in the same condition that it was sold in. That goes for items in any category.

You take my second paragraph and add it into my first paragraph about blatantly spelling it out for them, and there is less than no excuse for all the damaged products I am constantly receiving and having to deal with.

I've checked/tried USPS, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, Zavvi, that GPL site I referenced and still nothing
