You know, I'm sure this was made in semi-jest, but its so very true -- I've got a collection of boxes. Every month I get more boxes to add to those and every great once in awhile I open up one of the boxes, take some stuff out, and close the box back up. Pretty much defines most of our habits I guess (although even less steps for those NIB sealed collectors) ;)

And if y'all couldn't tell it was the Link on Loftwing Statue from F4F. Looks pretty much how all the pictures had it. I got #51 based on the outside of the box -- didn't open up the base due to time constraints.

Well, I just unboxed my Halo5 LCE. I really like the statues/book-ends. They're not the best quality, but it is by far one of the largest models of Master Chief that I own, and I like it.

As far as the CE over all though, I'm pretty disappointed. The box is huge and I intended to have a few things to look through/open/enjoy but there was really just a jumbo steelbook :facepalm: (oh how I hate these things) and the statues. Nothing else really. The little metal piece of junk is in the "steelbook" along with a bunch of pamphlets and such. This thing REALLY needed to have an artbook with it! I think I'm spoiled after spending only $120 on the Witcher3 CE... even the $180 I spent on this thing still seems $50 too much.

I'm sure other reviews will likely end up saying the same thing and so we'll probably see these things cancelled and end up for pennies on the dollar on amazon near Christmas time (as they'll be looking to clear up needed warehouse space for sure).

Edit: Oh yeah, and to top it off, there's not even a disc tray in the LCE "steelbook". So when I exchange it for the game I still can't put my disc in unless I order the CE separately? :facepalm:

I do like the packaging though. It's pretty sweet. Just wish there was more underneath the hood. I'll give it a 5.5/10 (for comparisons sake, I'd give Reach Legendary CE a 8.9/10)*

Summary:

- Nice design
- Sturdy Box
- Decent statue of MC (for low-mid grade quality)
- Digital-only is still a joke
- Not enough "things" to warrant the price
- "metal art" is flimsy and cheap

Nice review.

Totally called the statue here and in my vid... you could tell just from that preview unboxing that the statue was pretty hollow (you could hear it when they set it down while saying how nice it was :D ). Seems it is also as I said they took advantage of the loyal Halo fans on the price and quality of that CE.

Yup, these will be clearanced out. I'm glad I had some reward certs + GCU to soften the blow on this, but still, definitely feel like I paid too much. :( You hurt me MS, you hurt me!

I'm trying to see if there's a difference between the "limited edition" disc art and the standard edition disc art, because MS is trying to say they are sending me the standard edition now? No disc. I think the only way to get a disc is via the standard edition. At least, that is what I thought.

The pics don't do it justice IMHO, I love the attention to detail...the little indentations around the lid and buttons...and the power light is quite cool. Was your booklet squashed too? Seems a design error by being a couple mm to large...a real shame but overall I'm please with it!

I thought the light was a really cool touch too and, yes, the booklet is just too big which is a shame but it's pretty neat and not bad value with the vouchers. The case is a gimme really :)

Lol... good :thumb: That stuff works great. I try to use as little as possible and then clean the area up with window cleaner after to get the chemicals off just in case. But it so far I have never had an issue where it did more then the glue.

Nope. Useless points here still. Waiting on a response from their CSR (as I have been for the past couple of weeks really). Glad you were able to get something though! Those foam knuckles sold out awhile back, but looks like they restocked them. :shrug:

Yeah you guessed it. It was sliding around with the big ol' heavy impact wrench kit. Must have slid into and shattered the bottom end of the case.

Yeah, I knew there was a mask that had a different base that was sent to the press... just had never seen it and got lucky when oilywater mentioned he had one.

I like the French exclusive mask better but I like the Press one's base better (it looks like a horse hoof and has the Horse Logo as well as the worded logo on it which is neat... and it is far rarer, probably a prototype to the CE/PE versions).

So I have all 3 masks now... but the regular CE mask is a bit of a joke compared to the others :D

Yeah the CE Mask was a joke. I only forwarded one of those for a member and the weight difference was shocking. 0.0 I do wish the premium edition came with the hardback artbook though. lol

I honestly don't know whether there was a limited run number, but it was a limited run. It was sold to celebrate the opening of the Pokémon Centre in NYC, which is now the Nintendo World Store. It's very nice. :D Besides being opened for inspection, I don't think it has ever been used. It's very nice. ^o^

Another Gold console to add to my ever increasing collection of gold Nintendo consoles. XD Not that I'm specifically collecting gold consoles, but most of the Zelda ones so far have been gold. lol

I got lucky on the topper elsewhere - couldn't reach the one on here...
It's such a neat piece - metal and a decent weight and it's a usb charged power bank beautifully crafted. Not sure how many are around but it was a prize in some comps in the Benelux countries as well as a Ubi gift but pretty rare I'm guessing...

The coasters are cork backed proper ones unlike the thick card ones that were around at the pub crawl launches in Germany and UK

That would be interesting. The lighting isn't the best, so for those who cannot tell, the one on the left is darker than the one on the right, which matches the same shade of gold as the rest of the original release trophies. I also previously did a side by side with the Special cup too. As you can imagine when the new release ones are together with the original release on display, they stick out like a sore thumb and we just can't be having that now, can we!? :P

Getting the Bioshock Infinite steelbook got me back to the bioshock francise so I started looking for more (cheap) items and happend to run into a second steelbook :)

Finally got this baby last night... but not really impressed with the way they pack the statue. Sides of the box all banged up. And the feather on her hat was chipped off, had to glue it back. No major damage, just wish they would have pack it better to prevent this sort of things. Overall the paint job is well done, and love the way she looks :)

Wow! That's a fantastic statue! i like what they did with the base and all. Shame it arrived damaged - the box looks a bit beat up too. If I had more room I totally would've jumped on these statues, they look stunning! Thanks for sharing!

Kinda disappointed a little, the box wasn't even sealed, no screen protector but the console is worth the money just for the liquid metal slime stylus

I ordered mine from Nin-Nin Games. Not sure of the cost. Just paid on credit card and didn't look! XD Was a bit of an impulse purchase for me. Will go nicely with my PS4. ^^

Yeah, vita games and consoles are region free and you can access the store for the region your account is set to. The only issue is if you play an import physical game, you would not be able to download any DLC for it from the vita store if the game region does not match your account region. Unfortunately you can't have multiple region accounts on the vita like you can with the PS4. :(

Since it's been a slow 3 months aside my Metal Slime Vita, manage to get a Pokemon 3DS 20th Anniversary console from an independant video games store in my area. I always have a backup plan to get my stuff :P

Also manage to get Fire Emblem CE w/keychain but without the the games. Censored game is a no-no for me, made an exception with Earthbound, that was a long time ago, as long as my Chrono Trigger game that I bought in 2000 :P

I do hope that the digital only trend does not take over... it is annoying and the apologist for it are even more annoying IMO. Not everyone has the bandwidth to comfortably and timely download 50-100 GB games. I know I do not. Right now most BETAs that come up for 2 days I ignore as 1 whole day would be just to download them (or a whole night as I might not want to run the download when I am working online). Also there is the fundamental issue of consoles with only 500 GB or 1,000 GB HDDs... this is not enough for an even partial digital future... let alone a full digital future.

But I am on a huge tangent now.. your review got me think about it again :D

I have to agree with you on that. While I have a good connection to download games relatively fast, the HDD space on the PS4s just doesn't seem to be able to catch up. I have over a dozen PS4 games but only about 5 installed due to the limited space.

There are certain advantages to digital but I'm still a very disc guy but it could be something inevitable in the future.

Wow, nice items :)

It suck to be collector in Poland when most of new editions cost 1/3 of your month payment. Also we got... 2 big gaming companies that make AAA games. Press kits almost not exist here. Getting anything outside country is really expensiv. and sometimes you can get small items when you buy game but its really hard when shop gets only 10 of them...
So i really enjoy looking at your finds :)
